The master orally transmitted the *Bodhicharyavatara*. In the chapter on wisdom, starting from "When there are things and non-things," he gradually ascended into the sky, and finally, his body disappeared, and he departed after completing the transmission through sound. Afterwards, those who had attained dharani gathered what they had remembered, resulting in seven hundred, one thousand, and more than one thousand verses, causing doubt. The *Shikshasamuccaya* also says, "One should look at it again and again." Or, "Having briefly summarized all the sutras, one should look at the *Shikshasamuccaya*." If they did not know the truth, they heard that he was residing in the auspicious stupa in the south, and sent two monks to invite him. After meeting him, they asked about it. They replied, "The *Shikshasamuccaya* and the *Sutra Samuccaya* are written in small Pandit script between the bones of my chest. That is the complete one thousand verses of the *Bodhicharyavatara*." He prophesied and also gave the explanations and the basis for the practice of those texts. Then, he went to the east and debated with someone who was engaged in a fierce debate, and through miracles, he reconciled everyone and placed them in happiness. Also, not far from the west of Magadha, in a retinue of five hundred people holding strange views, a great famine occurred, food was cut off, and they were in distress. So they appointed someone who could beg as their leader and listened to his commands. The teacher took a bowl full of rice and blessed it, satisfying everyone, and then turned them away from their strange views and brought them into the teachings of Shakyamuni. Then, a great famine occurred, and about a thousand beggars were threatened by thirst and hunger and were on the verge of death. The teacher gave them food, taught them the Dharma, and placed them in happiness. Then, in the east, King Ari Bishana was afflicted by measles. Some who had not received food clung to the king, and if they harmed him, they would kill the king, so it was necessary to give wealth. To protect him, the teacher, who was serving as a bodyguard, had only a wooden sword as a token, which was seen by a friend, who reported to the king, "This man is a deceiver, look at his weapon." The king was angry and said, "Draw your sword!"

Having spoken, (people) reported that it would cause harm to the deity himself. (The deity) said, even if there is harm, the lama will surely rescue me. (People) reported, then cover one eye of the deity and look with the other. Having done so, (the deity) drew his sword, but could not bear the radiance of the sword, and one eye went blind. (The deity) begged for forgiveness, went for refuge, and entered the Dharma. After that, (he) went to the south side of the Glorious Mountain (Dpal gyi ri), where there was a practitioner named Utsasma, who lived as a naked beggar, surviving on the residue of bathwater. A maidservant of the king of Khatibihara, Kaca laha, saw the residue of bathwater splash on the teacher and boil. At that time, a non-Buddhist teacher named Shankaradeva reported to the king that tomorrow he would draw a mandala of the Great Ishvara in the sky, and if it could not be destroyed, the Buddhist temples and statues would be burned, and they would have to convert to non-Buddhism. The king gathered the Sangha and told them about this matter, but no one dared to undertake the task of destroying the mandala, and the king fell into sorrow. The maidservant told about the person she had seen before. (The king) said, go and find him. They searched everywhere and found him under a tree, and told him about the matter. (He said,) I can do it. Prepare a full bottle of water, two pieces of cloth, and fire. They did so. The next night, (he) drew a line and left, and everyone was in doubt. The next morning, (the non-Buddhists) drew the mandala, and just as they finished the east gate, the teacher entered into samadhi, and a great dust storm arose, completely destroying it, and the grass, trees, and the entire city were on the verge of collapse. The people gathered there were also scattered. The non-Buddhist teacher, like a bird scattered by the wind, was carried in all directions and plunged into great darkness. After that, light emanated from the teacher's brow, guiding the king and queen, who were tattered and covered in dust, (people) washed them with water, dressed them in new clothes, warmed them with fire, and made them comfortable. After that, the non-Buddhist temples were destroyed and they were incorporated into Buddhism, and even now, this place is known as the land where non-Buddhists were defeated. Although that teacher admitted that he was an ordinary person, the teacher Sherab Jungne Lodro considered him to be a noble being.

It is said that the teacher, who even more than Krishna touched the lotus feet of Manjushri with his crown, extensively explained the Compendium of Trainings (Śikṣāsamuccaya), concisely explained the Compendium of Sutras (Sūtrasamuccaya), and composed the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior (Bodhicaryāvatāra), which has extensive meaning but concise words. It is said that there are a hundred commentaries on the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior in India, but there are only about eight translations in Tibet.
