Generate compassion for those who are not universally reached, and especially for those who harm us, thinking that they will experience even greater suffering than this just for hindering my practice of Dharma. Therefore, generate even greater love and compassion. Thinking, 'These harm-doers are definitely not enemies, what reason is there for me to generate hatred towards them?' Then, cultivate the mind of Bodhichitta, and pray to the Lama, Yidam, and Dharma Protectors. The mind of Bodhichitta, the harm-doer, and one's own suffering are all one's own mind. Continuously meditate on the mind, the Great Seal, spontaneously accomplished, the non-dual wisdom. In the north, at Mawo, I dreamt in the middle of the night. On the seventh day of the second month, I set out on the road, without pack animals, and with little provisions. Carrying tsampa, I endured immeasurable suffering. However, I did not interrupt my virtuous practice. On the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the Dharma Lord Rinpoche bestowed accomplishment in a dream. On the first day of the third month, there were omens of accomplishment. On the second day of the third month, suffering and gross obscurations were lessened (reduced). In any place that is unsuitable to live in and where suffering is experienced, do not just see the suffering. If you focus on one practice that hits the key point, then in the future you will experience happiness in that place. If you do not practice and just indulge in suffering, then it is adding suffering upon suffering. That was in Shar O De Ral Sum, Ma Lung Chenpo eighteen places, and Nyi La Me, etc., where suffering was experienced. It is certain that it was the ripening of karma accumulated from beginningless time. At that time and circumstance, fearing being harassed by enemies, and suffering from hunger, thirst, fatigue, I prayed and continuously practiced virtue, thereby purifying bad karma. At the time when happiness was about to arise, I experienced the heavy ripening of karma. Snow fell, the road was destroyed, and provisions ran out. When everyone was discouraged, I generated inner courage, revived my spirit, and strove in virtuous practice, repeating that this was the time to eliminate obscurations and gain happiness. I also had the understanding that I had attained accomplishment and realized the karmas. The Dharma Lord Phagmo Drupa said: 'When the time of accomplishment comes, at that time, karmas will be realized.'

Such an understanding arose, thinking that the meaning also lies in this. By experiencing virtuous deeds, karmic obscurations were purified. After that, virtuous deeds were started. Finding a place to dig sweet potatoes prolonged life. On the twenty-fourth of the third month, in Daksho, arriving at the camp of Horcher, the breath ceased. In general, at the time when practice reaches a crucial point, it is when the obscurations accumulated from beginningless time are cleared away. By the power of the infallibility of karma, suffering is experienced. Understanding the experience of suffering in the mind, becoming accustomed to non-duality, obscurations are cleared away, and a single bliss arises. It is also because of this that the Bhagavan is praised by the Protector Maitreya: "Desire, hatred, and ignorance, as well as various other stains, are burned by the fire of your wisdom." Here, "your wisdom" refers to the wisdom of the Buddha. What is that? It is that one's own mind and the mind of the Buddha are not separate. If one understands and experiences in this way, there is no place for obscurations and suffering. It is like when the sun rises, there is no place for darkness. Even if unfavorable circumstances or suffering arise, if one can understand it as practice itself, meaning will be accomplished. Then, on the first day of the fifth month, arriving at Denzetak Dharma Chuk, the fear of enemies was eliminated, calamities and suffering were pacified, all favorable conditions were accomplished, and joy arose like seeing the truth of the first ground. Regarding the fear and suffering experienced before, thinking, "Will such suffering and conceptual thoughts arise in the Dharmakaya?" I was very surprised. Thinking, "Will such suffering as before come again?" fear, dread, or worry arose. However, from then on, having reached the ground of the Three Jewels, all unfavorable circumstances were pacified, and experiencing great bliss of favorable circumstances was like abiding in a pure realm, or like obtaining the eleventh ground, All-Illuminating, and the thirteenth ground, Vajradhara, the five bodies becoming one and attaining enlightenment, the inexhaustible adornment of body, speech, and mind, the Dharma wheel continuously benefiting sentient beings. Because it can eliminate calamities, obstacles, and hindrances, and because qualities quickly arise in the continuum, this Dharma is explained in detail. After that, my sins and suffering

May the suffering be purified, and may the sins and obscurations of sentient beings be purified. In particular, may the obscurations caused by harm be purified. Thus, I make this aspiration. This is the first chapter, which generally explains the introduction and instructions.
