The Noble Ones, to the defilements abandoned, not conjoined, to the defilements suppressed, not conjoined, formerly… the eye… the base, to the aggregates not conjoined, as impermanent… displeasure arises. With divine eye, one sees forms. With divine ear-element, one hears sounds. With knowledge of others' minds, one knows the mind of one endowed with a mind not conjoined. The base of infinite space is to the base of infinite consciousness… The base of nothingness is to the base of neither perception nor non-perception… The base of visible form is to eye-consciousness… The base of touch is to body-consciousness… The aggregates not conjoined are to the knowledge of psychic power, to the knowledge of others' minds, to the knowledge of recollection of past lives, to the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings, to the knowledge of future events, to advertence, a condition by way of object. (2) A non-fettering phenomenon is a condition for a fettering phenomenon and a non-fettering phenomenon by way of decisive support – object decisive support, contiguity decisive support, natural decisive support...etc. Natural decisive support – relying on faith, one murmurs conceit, grasps wrong view; virtue...etc...relying on lodging, one takes life...etc. breaks the Sangha; faith...etc...lodging, for the fetters and the associated aggregates, is a condition by way of decisive support. A non-fettering phenomenon is a condition for a non-fettering phenomenon by way of pre-nascent condition – object pre-nascent, base pre-nascent. Object pre-nascent – the eye...etc...the base as impermanent...etc. displeasure arises; with the divine eye one sees form, with the divine ear element one hears sound, the visual base for eye-consciousness...etc. the tangible base for body-consciousness...etc. Base pre-nascent – the eye-base for eye-consciousness...etc. the body-base for body-consciousness...etc. the base for non-fettering aggregates by way of pre-nascent condition. By which condition. (1) A non-fettering phenomenon is a condition for a fettering phenomenon by way of pre-existence – pre-existent object, pre-existent base. Pre-existent object: the eye... (etc.) one relishes and delights in an object, based on that, lust arises... (etc.) displeasure arises. Pre-existent base: the base is a condition for fetters by way of pre-existence.
