(2) A defilement-associated phenomenon for a defilement-associated and defilement-dissociated phenomenon is a condition by way of object condition. — Taking defilement-associated aggregates as object, aggregates accompanied by displeasure, accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, and delusion arise. (3) 78. A defilement-dissociated phenomenon for a defilement-dissociated phenomenon is a condition by way of object condition. — Having given a gift, having observed morality, and so on, having performed the Uposatha ceremony, one reviews it; previously well-practiced deeds, and so on, meditations, and so on, the noble path, and so on, the fruit, and so on, Nibbāna, and so on; Nibbāna is a condition by way of object condition for the lineage-changing consciousness, for purification, for the path, for the fruit, for advertence; noble ones review the defilements that have been abandoned, dissociated from defilements; having suppressed, and so on, previously, and so on, the eye, and so on, the base, one discerns the defilement-dissociated aggregates as impermanent, as suffering, as not-self. (Here there is no enjoyment) With the divine eye one sees forms, with the divine ear element one hears sounds. With the knowledge of penetrating minds, for one endowed with a defilement-dissociated mind. A mind knows: the base of infinite space for the base of infinite consciousness…etc… the base of nothingness for the base of neither perception nor non-perception…etc… the base of form for eye-consciousness…etc… the base of touch for body-consciousness…etc… The aggregates dissociated from defilements for the knowledge of psychic powers, for the knowledge of others' minds, for the knowledge of recollecting past lives, for the knowledge of the passing away and reappearance of beings according to their karma, for the knowledge of future events, for the advertence of delusion, are conditions by way of object condition. (1) A phenomenon dissociated from defilements is a condition for a phenomenon associated with defilements by way of object condition. Having given alms, morality…etc… having performed the Uposatha observance, one relishes it, delights in it. Concerning that, lust arises. Wrong view…etc… doubt…etc… restlessness…etc… displeasure arises. Good deeds done previously…etc… Having risen from jhana, jhana…etc… the eye…etc… the physical base relishes and delights in the aggregates dissociated from defilements. Concerning that, lust…etc… wrong view… displeasure… doubt… restlessness arises. (2) A phenomenon dissociated from defilements is a condition for a phenomenon associated with defilements and a phenomenon dissociated from defilements by way of object condition. Concerning the eye…etc… the physical base, the aggregates dissociated from defilements, the aggregates accompanied by displeasure, accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, and delusion arise. (3) 79. A phenomenon associated with defilements and a phenomenon dissociated from defilements are conditions for a phenomenon associated with defilements by way of object condition. Concerning the aggregates accompanied by displeasure, accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, and delusion, the aggregates associated with defilements arise. (1) A phenomenon associated with defilements and a phenomenon dissociated from defilements are conditions for a phenomenon dissociated from defilements by way of object condition. Concerning the aggregates accompanied by displeasure, accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness, and delusion, the aggregates dissociated from defilements and delusion arise.
