The path is a condition by way of decisive support for the noble ones' analytical knowledge of meaning... and so on... analytical knowledge of ready wit... skill in discerning right and wrong occasion. (2) Immeasurable phenomenon is a condition by way of decisive support for exalted phenomenon – decisive support as contiguity, decisive support as natural condition... and so on.... Decisive support as natural condition – relying on immeasurable faith, one generates exalted jhāna, generates supernormal knowledge, generates attainment. Relying on immeasurable virtue... and so on... wisdom, one generates exalted jhāna, generates supernormal knowledge, generates attainment. Immeasurable faith... and so on... wisdom is a condition by way of decisive support for exalted faith... and so on... wisdom. Noble ones, relying on the path, generate unarisen attainment, enter into arisen attainment. (3) Pre-nascent condition 75. Limited phenomenon is a condition by way of pre-nascent condition for a limited phenomenon – pre-nascent as object, pre-nascent as base. Pre-nascent as object – eye- Indeed, as impermanent... he discerns, he enjoys, he delights; concerning that, lust arises... displeasure arises. The ear... the basis, as impermanent... displeasure arises. The visible object base for eye-consciousness... the tangible object base for body-consciousness is a condition by way of pre-existence. Pre-existent basis: the eye-base for eye-consciousness... the body-base for body-consciousness... the basis for the limited aggregates is a condition by way of pre-existence. (1) A limited phenomenon for a lofty phenomenon is a condition by way of pre-existence: pre-existent object, pre-existent basis.
