(1) And phenomena accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness are a condition by way of strong dependence for phenomena accompanied by happiness – object strong dependence, immediate strong dependence, natural strong dependence... Natural strong dependence is: taking as strong dependence faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, with a mind accompanied by happiness one gives a gift... holds a view. Taking as strong dependence virtue accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness... aspiration, with a mind accompanied by happiness one gives a gift... causes destruction. And faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness... aspiration, are a condition by way of strong dependence for faith accompanied by happiness... for aspiration, for body-consciousness accompanied by happiness. (2) And phenomena accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness are a condition by way of strong dependence for phenomena accompanied by equanimity – object strong dependence, immediate strong dependence, natural strong dependence... Natural strong dependence is: taking as strong dependence faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, with a mind accompanied by equanimity one gives a gift... produces higher knowledge... holds a view. Taking as strong dependence virtue accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness... aspiration, with a mind accompanied by equanimity one gives a gift... causes destruction. And faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness... aspiration, are a condition by way of strong dependence for faith accompanied by equanimity... for aspiration. (3) And phenomena accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness for phenomena accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness... And that is a condition by way of decisive support for the dhamma – decisive support by way of object, decisive support by way of contiguity, decisive support by way of natural condition… and so on…. Natural decisive support – Having decisive support in faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, with a mind accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, one gives a gift, undertakes precepts, performs Uposatha observance. One produces jhana accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, produces insight, produces the path, produces attainment, murmurs conceit, grasps wrong view. Having decisive support in virtue accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness… learning… generosity… wisdom… lust… delusion… conceit… wrong view… aspiration, with a mind accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, one gives a gift, undertakes precepts, performs Uposatha observance. One produces jhana accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness… and so on… produces attainment. With a mind accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness, one takes what is not given, speaks falsely, speaks divisively, engages in frivolous talk, breaks into houses, commits robbery, commits housebreaking, stands on the highway (as a robber), goes to another's wife, commits village destruction, commits town destruction. Faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness… and so on… aspiration is a condition by way of decisive support for faith accompanied by joy and accompanied by happiness… and so on… for aspiration. (4) Repetition Condition 37. A phenomenon accompanied by joy is a condition by way of repetition for a phenomenon accompanied by joy – Earlier and earlier aggregates accompanied by joy are a condition by way of repetition for later and later aggregates accompanied by joy. Conformity accompanied by joy is a condition by way of repetition for change of lineage accompanied by joy… conformity for purification… change of lineage for the path… purification for the path by way of repetition condition. (1) A phenomenon accompanied by joy is a condition by way of repetition for a phenomenon accompanied by happiness – Earlier and earlier aggregates accompanied by joy are a condition by way of repetition for later and later aggregates accompanied by happiness. is conditioned by such a condition. Joy-accompanied adaptation for happiness-accompanied change-of-lineage is conditioned by repetition condition. (3) Kamma Condition 40. Joy-accompanied phenomenon for joy-accompanied... That dhamma is a condition by way of kamma-condition – co-arising, or at different moments. Co-arising – volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the associated aggregates by way of kamma-condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking, volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the associated aggregates by way of kamma-condition. At different moments – volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the resultant aggregates accompanied by joy by way of kamma-condition. (1) The dhamma accompanied by joy is a condition for the dhamma accompanied by pleasure by way of kamma-condition – co-arising, or at different moments. Co-arising – volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the associated aggregates accompanied by pleasure by way of kamma-condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking, volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the associated aggregates accompanied by pleasure by way of kamma-condition. At different moments – volition accompanied by joy is a condition for the resultant aggregates accompanied by pleasure by way of kamma-condition. (2) The dhamma accompanied by joy is a condition for the dhamma accompanied by equanimity by way of kamma-condition.
