(2) A phenomenon associated with pleasant feeling is a condition for a phenomenon associated with neutral feeling by way of decisive support condition – object decisive support, contiguity decisive support, natural decisive support… and so on. Natural decisive support – relying on faith associated with pleasant feeling, with a mind associated with neutral feeling, one gives alms, undertakes precepts, performs Uposatha duties, generates jhāna associated with neutral feeling, generates insight, generates the path, generates supernormal knowledge, generates attainment, cultivates conceit, grasps wrong view. Relying on virtue associated with pleasant feeling, learning, generosity, wisdom, greed, delusion, conceit, wrong view, aspiration, body-consciousness accompanied by pleasure, with a mind associated with neutral feeling, one gives alms… and so on… generates attainment. With a mind associated with neutral feeling, one takes what is not given, speaks falsely, speaks divisively, speaks idly, breaks into houses, plunders, commits house-breaking, stands on the highway, goes to another's wife, commits village destruction, commits town destruction. Body-consciousness accompanied by pleasure is a condition by way of decisive support for faith associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, for morality, for learning, for generosity, for wisdom, for lust, for delusion, for conceit, for wrong view, for aspiration, for the aggregates associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling. (3) 54. A phenomenon associated with painful feeling is a condition by way of decisive support for a phenomenon associated with painful feeling. Natural decisive support – relying on faith associated with neither pleasant nor unpleasant feeling, one torments oneself, afflicts oneself, experiences suffering rooted in seeking.
