(10) Ajjh And bound by self, And bound by external things. (11) And not angry, And not resentful. (12) And not a denier, And not a rival. (13) And not envious, And not stingy. (14) And not deceitful, And not a trickster. (15) And conscientious, And fearful of wrongdoing. (16) And amenable, And a good friend. (17) And with guarded sense doors, And moderate in food. (18) And with mindfulness established, And with clear comprehension. (19) And accomplished in virtue, And accomplished in view. (20) Two persons Are rare in the world. (21) Two persons Are hard to satisfy. (22) Two persons Are easy to satisfy. (23) For two persons Defilements increase. (24) For two persons Defilements do not increase. (5) A person with a mind like a sore, A person with a mind like lightning, A person with a mind like a diamond. (6) Blind, One-eyed, Two-eyed. (7) A person with overturned wisdom, A person with lap-wisdom, A person with extensive wisdom. (8) One person is not dispassionate towards sensual pleasures and existences. One person is dispassionate towards sensual pleasures, but not towards existences. One person is dispassionate towards sensual pleasures and existences. (9) A person like an inscription on rock, A person like an inscription on earth, A person like an inscription on water. (10) Three persons like books. (11) Three persons like Kasi cloth. (12) Easily measurable, Hard to measure, Immeasurable. (13) One person should not be associated with, should not be frequented, should not be attended upon. (14) One per Which person is to be despised, not to be associated with, not to be frequented, not to be attended upon? (6) One with appropriate eloquence, not with fluent eloquence; one with fluent eloquence, not with appropriate eloquence; one with both appropriate and fluent eloquence; one with neither appropriate nor fluent eloquence. (7) Four persons who are Dhamma speakers. (8) Four persons like clouds. (9) Four persons like mice. (10) Four persons like mangoes. (11) Four persons like pots. (12) Four persons like water pools. (13) Four persons like oxen. (14) Four persons like venomous snakes. (15) Some person, without investigating, without scrutinizing, speaks praise of one who deserves dispraise. Some person, without investigating... Thus, without investigating or examining, one speaks dispraise of one deserving praise. And some person, without investigating or examining, shows appreciation in a place not inspiring confidence. And some person, without investigating or examining, shows no appreciation in a place inspiring confidence. (16) Some person, having investigated and examined, speaks dispraise of one deserving dispraise. Some person, having investigated and examined, speaks praise of one deserving praise. Some person, having investigated and examined, shows no appreciation in a place not inspiring confidence. Some person, having investigated and examined, shows appreciation in a place inspiring confidence. (17) Some person speaks dispraise of one deserving dispraise, truly, factually, at the right time, but does not speak praise of one deserving praise, truly, factually, at the right time. Some person speaks praise of one deserving praise, truly, factually, at the right time, but does not speak dispraise of one deserving dispraise, truly, factually, at the right time.
