In dependence on another person: "As that one is a noble, so I might be a noble," or "As that one is a brahmin, so I might be a brahmin," ... "As that one is neither percipient nor non-percipient, so I might be neither percipient nor non-percipient." Thus, "I might be like this" arises. (14) And how does "I might be otherwise" arise? In dependence on another person: "As that one is a noble, I might not be a noble like that," or "As that one is a brahmin, I might not be a brahmin like that," ... "As that one is neither percipient nor non-percipient, I might not be neither percipient nor non-percipient like that." Thus, "I might be otherwise" arises. (15) And how does "I might not be" arise?
