At that time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, internally perceiving formlessness, externally seeing immeasurable forms, having overcome them, thinking 'I know, I see', with the cessation of initial and sustained application... one enters and dwells in the second jhāna... the third jhāna... the fourth jhāna... the first jhāna... the fifth jhāna, with painful practice, slow comprehension, limited, with an immeasurable object... with painful practice, slow comprehension, immeasurable, with an immeasurable object... with painful practice, quick comprehension, limited, with an immeasurable object... with painful practice, quick comprehension, immeasurable, with an immeasurable object... with pleasant practice, slow comprehension, limited, with an immeasurable object... with pleasant practice, slow comprehension, immeasurable, with an immeasurable object... with pleasant practice, quick comprehension, limited, with an immeasurable object... with pleasant practice, quick comprehension, immeasurable, with an immeasurable object. At that time contact arises... non-distraction arises... these phenomena are wholesome. 245. Which phenomena are wholesome? At that time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, internally perceiving formlessness, externally seeing immeasurable forms, beautiful and ugly, having overcome them, thinking 'I know, I see', with the cessation of initial and sustained application... one enters and dwells in the second jhāna... the third jhāna... the fourth jhāna... the first jhāna... the fifth jhāna. At that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... these states are wholesome. This also is eightfold. 246. Which states are wholesome? At which time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, internally perceiving formlessness, externally one sees forms: blue, of blue color, of blue appearance, of blue radiance; having overcome them, 'I know, I see' (thinking thus), quite secluded from sensual pleasures... one enters and dwells in the first jhana; at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... these states are wholesome. 247. Which states are wholesome? At which time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, internally perceiving formlessness, externally one sees forms: yellow, of yellow color, of yellow appearance, of yellow radiance... red, of red color, of red appearance, of red radiance... white, of white color, of white appearance, of white radiance; having overcome them, 'I know, I see' (thinking thus), quite secluded from sensual pleasures... one enters and dwells in the first jhana; at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... these states are wholesome. These also are sixteenfold bases of mastery. Three liberations are sixteenfold. 248. Which states are wholesome? At which time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, perceiving forms, one sees forms, quite secluded from sensual pleasures... one enters and dwells in the first jhana; at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... these states are wholesome. 249. Which states are wholesome? At which time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, internally perceiving formlessness, externally one sees forms, quite secluded from sensual pleasures... one enters and dwells in the first jhana; at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... these states are wholesome. 250. At which time one develops the path to rebirth in the form realm, perceiving them as beautiful, quite secluded from sensual pleasures... one enters and dwells in the first jhana; at that time there is contact... there is non-distraction... And... these states are wholesome. These three liberations are also sixteenfold. The four Brahmavihāra jhānas are sixteenfold. 251. What are wholesome states?
