not longing for sensual pleasures, having renounced desire, having vomited desire, having released desire, having abandoned desire, having relinquished desire, free from passion, having renounced passion, having vomited passion, having released passion, having abandoned passion, having relinquished passion, unthirsting, extinguished, cooled, experiencing happiness, abiding with a divine self – not longing for sensual pleasures. They long for one who has crossed the flood, the people entangled in sensual pleasures. "Pajāti" is a term for beings, people, attached to sensual pleasures, greedy, entangled, infatuated, immersed, stuck, clinging, bound. They long for one who has crossed the flood of sensual pleasures, crossed the flood of becoming, crossed the flood of views, crossed the flood of ignorance, crossed the path of all formations, crossed over, completely crossed, overcome, thoroughly overcome, transcended, gone to the far shore, reached the far shore, gone to the end, reached the end, gone to the limit, reached the limit, gone to the boundary, reached the boundary, gone to the conclusion, reached the conclusion, gone to refuge, reached refuge, gone to shelter, reached shelter, gone to protection, reached protection, gone to fearlessness, reached fearlessness, gone to the changeless, reached the changeless, gone to the deathless, reached the deathless, gone to Nibbāna, reached Nibbāna. They wish, they delight in, they long for, they yearn for, they murmur about. Just as debtors long for freedom from debt, yearn for it, just as the sick long for health, yearn for it, just as those bound in fetters long for release from bonds, yearn for it, just as slaves long for freedom, yearn for it, just as those who have entered a wilderness path long for a safe land, yearn for it; even so, people attached to sensual pleasures, greedy, infatuated, obsessed, stuck, clinging, entangled, they wish, they delight in, they long for, they yearn for, they murmur about one who has crossed the flood of sensuality, one who has crossed the flood of existence, ... one who has gone to Nibbāna, one who has attained Nibbāna – they yearn for one who has crossed the flood, the people infatuated with sensual pleasures. Therefore, the Blessed One said: “For the empty sage, who wanders, unconcerned with sensual pleasures; They yearn for one who has crossed the flood, the people infatuated with sensual pleasures.” The seventh explanation of the Tissametteyya Sutta.
