Monks, a woman is endowed with the strength of beauty, but not with the strength of virtue – they destroy her, they do not let her dwell in the family. Monks, a woman is endowed with the strength of beauty, and with the strength of wealth, but not with the strength of virtue – they destroy her, in the fa- they do not allow to stay. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of beauty, with the power of wealth, with the power of relatives, but not with the power of virtue, they destroy her, they do not allow her to stay in the family. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of beauty, with the power of wealth, with the power of relatives, and with the power of children, but not with the power of virtue, they destroy her, they do not allow her to stay in the family. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of virtue, but not with the power of beauty, they allow her to stay, they do not destroy her in the family. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of virtue, but not with the power of wealth, they allow her to stay, they do not destroy her in the family. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of virtue, but not with the power of relatives, they allow her to stay, they do not destroy her in the family. And, monks, a woman is endowed with the power of virtue, but not with the power of children, they allow her to stay, they do not destroy her in the family. The power of beauty, the power of wealth, the power of relatives, the power of children, the power of virtue. But because of the power of virtue, monks, does a woman after the breaking up of the body, after death, reappear in a good destination, a heavenly world. These, monks, are the five powers of a woman. The Seventh. 8. The Discourse on Positions 311. These five, monks, are states difficult to obtain for a woman who has not done merit. Which five? To be born into a suitable family – this, monks, is the first state difficult to obtain for a woman who has not done merit.
