Emerging from the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, he entered the cessation of perception and feeling. When the Blessed One attained final Nibbana, at the moment of his final Nibbana, Sakka, king of the devas, uttered this verse: "Impermanent, alas, are formations; their nature is to arise and pass away. Having arisen, they cease; their appeasement is bliss."
