"Just as, bhikkhus, a skilled fisherman or his apprentice might cast a fine-meshed net over a small pond. He would think: 'Whatever large creatures are in this pond, all of them are caught within the net. They emerge, caught within it; they rise up, caught within it.' In the same way, bhikkhus, whatever recluses or brahmins, who speculate about the past, or speculate about the future, or speculate about both the past and the future, who hold views concerning the past and the future, who express various assertions regarding the past and the future, all of them are caught within this net of sixty-two views. They emerge, caught within it, they rise up, caught within it. They are included, caught within it, they emerge, caught within it. 147. "The Tathāgata's body, bhikkhus, stands with the thread of becoming cut off. As long as his body stands, gods and humans will see him. With the breaking up of the body, after the end of life, gods and humans will not see him." Just as, monks, from a mango cluster whose stem is cut, whatever mangoes are attached to the stem, all of them follow along; Even so, monks, the Tathāgata's body stands, with the thread of existence cut off. As long as his body will stand, so long gods and humans will see him. With the breaking of the body, after the end of life, gods and humans will not see him. When this was said, Venerable Ānanda spoke to the Blessed One: "Wonderful, venerable sir! Amazing, venerable sir! What is the name of this discourse, venerable sir?" "Therefore, Ānanda, you should remember this discourse as the Net of Meaning, as the Net of Dhamma, as the Supreme Net, as the Net of Views, and as the Unexcelled Victory in Battle."
