Empowerment Ritual of Phagmo Lha Nga (Five Goddesses) Homage to the Guru! Homage to the venerable Vajrayogini! This is the lineage of body, speech, and mind, including oral instructions, for empowerment, offering, subjugation, and pacifying obstacles. If one wishes to empower a disciple, it should be in a very secluded and delightful place, where the signs of Vairochana appear, or where there is a flow of chang (Tibetan beer), or the sound of a Damaru (hand drum), or many adorned women gather, or one directly sees the face of the deity. One should complete the required number of recitations. For Vairochana, recite: Om Ah Hum Svaha. For the Hari Nisa mantra, perform the approach retreat for three or seven days. This is the preliminary practice. Afterward, clean the dwelling, hang banners and curtains, and smear the ground with incense and chang. Encircle the mandala with a white line. In the center, draw a red Dharma source (chos 'byung). Within the Dharma source, draw a red four-petaled lotus. In the center, write the syllable 'Pam'. On the four petals of the lotus, write the four syllables 'Hari Nisa'. Fill a vase with a neck with scented water and place it in the center of the lotus. Fill a skull cup (Thodpa) with chang and place it on top of the vase, covering it with red silk. Smear vermillion on a mirror and draw a single-colored Dharma source. In the center, write the syllable 'Bam' and write the Vairochana mantra counterclockwise, placing it on top of the skull cup with the beginning of the mantra facing oneself. Prepare a Torma (ritual cake) containing five kinds of meat and place them on the four petals of the lotus, placing the remaining one wherever is convenient. Surround it with five butter lamps, incense, and five food offerings. On the Guru-Deity mandala, arrange as many offerings as possible. Arrange five offerings in front of oneself, placing the root offering water and five containers. Use a skull cup filled with chang as the alcohol offering. Arrange as many Tsog (feast) offerings as possible. Arrange as many Dharma protector Tormas as possible. Having prepared in this way, surround the mandala with curtains. Afterward, sit oneself on a comfortable cushion. After the disciple has bathed, the master explains the Dharma of karma and the impermanence of death. Extensively perform the refuge and generation of Bodhicitta. Afterward, arrange and offer the mandala and Samantabhadra offerings to the Guru-Deity in order. Practice the generation stage and completion stage oneself, and perform the recitation. When the approach retreat is complete, light radiates from the syllable 'Bam' in the mirror, touching all sentient beings, purifying sins and obscurations, and transforming them into the venerable mother (Jetsunma). The light gathers back and dissolves into the syllable 'Pam'. Visualize oneself transforming into the venerable mother, placing one's palms... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Imagine on the left a dharmodaya (chos 'byung, place of origin of all dharmas), and visualize a lotus. Visualize 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable) at the navel. Visualize four letters on the four petals. Similarly, visualize in the skull-cup (thod pa) of alcohol. Light radiates from 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable), striking all sentient beings, purifying sins and obscurations, transforming them into the Noble Lady (rje btsun ma). The light gathers back and dissolves into 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable), visualizing oneself as the Noble Lady, and offer the five pūjas. After praising, the Noble Lady dissolves into light, becoming the five wisdoms (ye shes lnga). The five wisdoms dissolve into light, visualizing everything turning into amrita (bdud rtsi). Recite the root mantra (rtsa sngags). Throw the torma (gtor ma) towards the place, dispelling all obstacles (bgegs), visualizing it becoming a net and tent of dakinis (mkha' 'gro ma). Throw the torma towards oneself, visualizing all pores filled with dakinis. Place the torma on the tongue, tasting the amrita. By reciting 'oṃ āḥ hūṃ' (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:ओम् आः हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ,body speech mind), throw the torma towards the tsok and offerings, visualizing everything turning into amrita. Offer the five divine offerings to the mandala (dkyil 'khor), as well as the offerings of amrita and tsok, and praise. Then, light radiates from the mirror and the 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable) at the heart of the Noble Lady, inviting all the amrita from the secret place (gsang gnas) of the Noble Lady, the wisdom of body, speech, and mind of all the dakinis from Oḍḍiyāna (au rgyan), dissolving into 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable). 'Vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable) drips down, inseparable from the amrita of the skull-cup, becoming inseparable from the substance of the vase. At this time, have the disciple visualize themselves as the Noble Lady, and due to karma, amrita descends, filling the skull-cup, visualizing the amrita of the skull-cup filling the vase. Then, uncover the veil and bestow blessings: touch with amrita, draw white lines, write down the dharmodaya lotus and the number of disciples, arrange five piles of barley, have all the disciples stand on top of them, and have them prostrate to the guru (bla ma) and Vajrayogini (rdo rje rnal 'byor ma). Pray: 'Guru Noble Lady, please consider me! I, Vajradhara (rdo rje 'dzin pa), named..., request you to bless me with the body, speech, and mind of the Noble Lady!' Have them recite this three times, then squat down, pressing the right foot with the left ankle, exposing the soles of the feet, or have them stand, making the mudra (phyag rgya) of the dharmodaya on the crown of the head, focusing awareness on the red 'sa ga ra ra' rotating counterclockwise around 'vaṃ' (藏文:བཾ,梵文天城体:वं,梵文罗马拟音:vaṃ,seed syllable) on the lotus sun disc at the heart of the Noble Lady. Or, in the center of the navel, visualize the dharmodaya red lotus, with four letters on the petals, focusing awareness on the red 'sa ga ra ra' rotating counterclockwise. Burn gugul (gu gug) incense and thick oil, the guru has the disciple visualize themselves as the deity (lhar), shaking the bell and drum (ḍa)... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
