Its meaning lies in, Depending on symbols, it is transmitted to the eye. It is not analyzed by wisdom, Manifestly at the gate of the senses, In order to establish the wisdom of appearance, Place this in the present moment. Son of mind, wishing to enter the present moment, Cherish a Lama who possesses lineage. If only appearing, there is no accomplishment. If the Lama does not possess lineage, Without vows and without precepts, Minding worldly wealth, Not holding mantras according to the ritual, Not abiding in the meaning of the tantra, Not seeing the manifestation of awareness, Morality is decayed and without demeanor, If a Lama without liberation's ripening, Performs this empowerment without elaboration, Then, like falling headfirst, one goes to hell. This is called a wrong path. Therefore, cherish a Lama with lineage. Although the qualities of a disciple have been previously explained, For a moment, here is a brief summary. This will be diligently explained here. Generating renunciation from samsara, firm faith, Becoming without weariness, Being able to give up worldly possessions, Wisdom greatly increasing, Especially serving the secret mantras, Respecting the Lama and possessing vows, Free from pride and content, fearing both birth and death, Being cautious of ripening and having shame, If a disciple does not possess these, If, looking at material things, Who performs this empowerment? Both are burned by the fire of the earth. Not seeking from the beginning, innocence is virtue. In order to ripen the bases, Cherish the vessel and essence of the Lama and disciple. Therefore, initially, it should be done by the wise. If the essence is complete in the vessel of these two, Then, without being eaten by demons, one attains Buddhahood. If to a Lama possessing lineage, One requests the profound empowerment without elaboration, If one's own Lama existed before, Then request the common empowerment again. The methods of pleasing the Lama, Should be pleased and served according to their wishes. Even if there is no previous Lama, Then to the Lama from whom one requests empowerment, Entrust knowledge to body, speech, and mind, For seven or eleven days, Meditate at the crown of the head. If the Lama appears in a dream, Teaching the Dharma, Or even if the nature of Dharma is shown By forms taught by others, It is said that accomplishments will arise very quickly. Then, draw near to the Lama and request empowerment. If the empowerment Lama, Does not practice this, After the disciple offers the empowerment request, At the time of arrival,

Previously also, after bathing oneself, request the empowerment from the lama again. However, if the lama is not present, then as the disciple should do. Then, having gone to the charnel ground for practice, begin the conduct for three days. Then, in a great reversed practice, in a mountain cave, on the self-existing essence of the nature of reality, practice for seven days, or eleven, or twenty-one. When practicing or receiving, that union is not necessary. Then, in the place of bestowing self-empowerment, or in a secluded mountain cave, for two or three disciples, after having been taken from the elemental bath, having changed into new clothes. Then the disciple sits or stands before the lama, with palms joined at the heart. In order for the lama to dispel the obstacles of the disciple, now remove the upper garment, and stand facing east. In order to guard the gates of the eight consciousnesses, seal with eight letters. On the crown of the disciple's head, say the words, "Meditate on one བྷཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: भूं, Romanized Sanskrit: bhūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable)". The lama, with clear samadhi, at the tip of the disciple's heart, in the network of channels, resides ཧཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: huṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) together with awareness. Meditate on the blue-green body of ཧཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: huṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable). From the soles of the feet, ཡཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: यं, Romanized Sanskrit: yaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) is great and green. Meditate on the body as great wisdom. At the navel, རཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) is red, the same as before. At the throat, ཁཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: खं, Romanized Sanskrit: khaṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) is smoky. At the forehead, meditate on the blue ཨེ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ऐ, Romanized Sanskrit: ai, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable). At the armpits, སུ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: सु, Romanized Sanskrit: su, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) is yellow. White ཧ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ह, Romanized Sanskrit: ha, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) is said to be the knees, but actually the two breasts, on the right and left. Take out one's own body completely naked. Utter forcefully, "ཧ་ཧ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: ह ह, Romanized Sanskrit: ha ha, Literal Chinese meaning: Ha Ha)". Again, it is said the soles of the feet, but actually the heart, the letter ཕཊ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable), meditate on it as a terrifying form of dark blue. Then, all those disciples, having taken food and union substances, in order to be sent to each charnel ground, with the conduct of separating corpses, the teachings should be done well. Having taught the order of conduct of body, speech, and mind, before going to their respective places, recite ཕཊ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: seed syllable) and carry the torma. Then, in their respective charnel grounds, having gone, offer one torma, and supplicate the dakinis. Supplicate for the pacification of obstacles and the granting of siddhis. Having supplicated thus, begin the bodily conduct. When that conduct is finished, in order to leave behind the gross habitual tendencies, perform prostrations, circumambulations, mudras, and entering into the Dharma.
