From 'The nature of emptiness and compassion' to 'I prostrate to the Bodhicitta', is the determination of prostrating to the Vajra; from 'Emanation of body, speech, and mind' to 'Should be written in the Abridged Tantra', is the determination of prostrating to the Vajradhara; from 'The rituals spoken by the Buddhas' to 'This is the lord of the three realms, constantly revealing', is the determination of proclaiming the merits of the extensive commentary made by the Bodhisattva; from 'Whoever destroys the aggregates and other obscurations' to 'Arising from the kindness of the holy Guru', is the determination of refuting the obscurations of the path; from 'This profound and precious path' to 'Yoga of the nature of skillful means and wisdom', is the determination of explaining the reasons for seizing the path; from 'Body of compassion and emptiness' to 'Urged by his wisdom, I write this commentary', is the determination of pacifying the near harm of the sixteen great fears; from 'From the letter Ka, peace arises' to 'This commentary should be written quickly', is the determination of the outer Kalachakra, these are explained as seven determinations. In the explanation of the title of the first abridged text, it is translated as: 'The Great Abridged Text that Determines the Supreme Path of the Holy Deity, which Destroys All Demons and Obstacles'. Among the five actual prostration sentences, the first sentence is the wisdom that purifies the obscuration of consciousness, the second sentence is the wisdom that purifies the obscuration of formation, the third sentence is the wisdom that purifies the obscuration of feeling, the fourth sentence is the wisdom that purifies the obscuration of perception, and the fifth sentence is the wisdom that purifies the obscuration of form, this comes from the explanation. According to my tradition, from 'The nature of emptiness and compassion' to 'The lord of the gods bows with his head', offering to the deity one wishes to offer to, is holy, and determines the true path. Thus, from 'Vajra Yoga' to 'Should be equal', is vowing to compose the treatise and urging to listen to the composed commentary. From 'It is universally illuminating' to 'This is what makes it universally illuminating,' it explains the difference between correct and seemingly correct interpretations. From 'What are the aggregates, etc.' to 'It arises from the grace of the supreme Lama,' it explains the method of not deviating from the correct path. From 'This profound and precious path' to 'One should diligently and well receive it,' it explains the necessity of abandoning the causes of stealing the path and thus concealing the path. From 'The order of heroes' to 'The yoga of the nature of skillful means and wisdom,' it explains the meaning of the definite number of the two orders of heroes and self-blessings. From 'Compassion and the body of emptiness' to 'All darkness will be destroyed,' it explains how to pacify the harm of the sixteen fears, which means destroying all demons and obstacles. This also ascertains the holy path. From 'Gods, nagas, humans, and' to 'Write this commentary quickly,' it explains another way of vowing to write a commentary, which should be summarized into eight points.
