Collected Teachings of Je Tsongkhapa JTs87 Commentary on Vajrayogini: A Record of the Tenth Day Offering Contemplation, Conferred by the Great Accomplished Darika. Commentary on Vajrayogini: A Record of the Tenth Day Offering Contemplation, Conferred by the Great Accomplished Darika. Commentary on Vajrayogini: A Record of the Tenth Day Offering Contemplation. Written by the Greatly Accomplished Darika. Here, how should emptiness be meditated upon? By meditating on all dharmas as devoid of substance, the impurities arising from the cause of जन्म (Tibetan: སྐྱེ་བ།, Devanagari: जन्म, Romanized Sanskrit: janma, Literal meaning: birth) accumulated from beginningless time are purified, and the clinging to the aggregates of ordinary beings is completely abandoned. This should precede the meditation on the deity of the generation and completion stages. Here, why is emptiness meditated upon? From the perspective of reasoning, the nature of all dharmas, devoid of the grasping and the grasped, is the nature of the mind alone, and the absence of inherent existence is emptiness. Like blue and so on, all external objects, and the internal eye and so on, are mentally fabricated. Because there are no material objects other than the mind. Without that, there is no grasping. Because it is not reasonable for one mind to have two natures. However, if mind-only were true, that would not be the case, because it is included within all dharmas, and therefore it should also be understood as devoid of substance. Because dharmas are devoid of substance, therefore they are unborn. Therefore, it is free from the darkness of all self-fabricated natures and is clear light. Because it is initially unborn. If it is born first and then completely destroyed later, that is not the case. Therefore, dharmas, like illusion जैसे (Tibetan: སྒྱུ་མ།, Devanagari: माया, Romanized Sanskrit: māyā, Literal meaning: illusion) and so on, are initially unborn, likewise, from the ultimate point of view, they are empty of substance, and so is the mind. Because the reasoning is the same. Here, it is shown up to the present, and the past and future are also shown to be generally empty, thus showing the three doors of liberation, such as emptiness. Therefore, the three purities should be recited, that is, the three mantras of complete purity should be recited with three ཨོཾ་ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om) for self-nature and three forms of vajra and yoga. Among them, self-nature emptiness is free from existence and non-existence, and the fabrication of grasping and the grasped, therefore it is without impurity. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh! All the skandhas (aggregates) and 'I' are the same. Because they are included in all dharmas (phenomena). Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt) is emptiness, because it is said that 'emptiness is vajra'. Therefore, it is without characteristics, completely free from fabrication, so it is pure. Yoga is Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment), because it is free from wishes, so it is pure. Because it is difficult to abandon self-grasping, it is said that 'I am pure by nature' and so on. The three mantras (Om, Ah, Hum) represent emptiness, absence of characteristics, and absence of wishes, which are the three doors of liberation. Although it is pure by nature, these (methods) temporarily remove defilements. Afterwards, with aspiration as the forerunner, awakening from the emptiness of great compassion, it is said that one should do this during the visualization of the deity, that is, 'from then on' and so on. From then on, after emptiness, one's own body, speech, and mind, these three are completely purified, becoming a palace mandala, therefore the three realms are represented by the pure palace. The three realms are also purified by the palace. In the pure palace of the three realms, one visualizes especially, that is, in an instant, without relying on seed syllables and mudras (hand gestures), in the mandala of the navel chakra, the glorious Vajrayogini is constantly meditated upon, thus connecting them. Through this, may the precious teachings of the Buddha spread in all directions from all aspects, flourish and prosper, and remain for a long time! Vajrayogini Commentary - The Visualization of the Tenth Day Offering, a note lineage written by the great accomplished Darikapa. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
