The Dharani Called "Noble Iron Beak". The Dharani Called "Noble Iron Beak". ༄༅། །The Noble Iron Beak. In Sanskrit: Arya Lohadunda Nama Dharani. In Tibetan: The Dharani Called "Noble Iron Beak". Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was wandering in the country of Magadha, went to the Mango Grove, and stayed in the Mango Grove, in the rock cave of the Lord of the Lofty Mountain. Then, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, went to where the Blessed One was, prostrated with his head at the feet of the Blessed One, and sat on one side. Having sat on one side, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Blessed One as follows: Blessed One, the Asuras and humans are harmful to the Dharma. Blessed One, the Asuras and the retinue belonging to humans are opposing enemies for the sake of harming the Dharma for a long time. Therefore, if the Blessed One cannot subdue them with peaceful means, please teach me the Dharma of subduing them with fierce means. Please proclaim the Dharma of protecting the Great Vehicle. After he had spoken thus, the Blessed One said to the Lord of the Gods, Indra, as follows: Lord of the Gods, you should hold the Iron Beak Dharani that bestows fearlessness to all, that destroys the untamed, that accomplishes all purposes, that protects the sacred Dharma, that completely pacifies all fears, that completely pacifies all diseases, that destroys all poisons, that makes all weapons rigid, that protects the enemies of the Great Vehicle Dharma, that makes all footless, two-footed, and four-footed beings rigid, that makes all two-footed beings terrified, that destroys all enemies, that destroys the Asuras, Garudas, sons of Putana, flesh-eaters, forgetters, madmen, Brahmins, Rakshasas, Bhutas, corpses, bird demons, foul-smelling ones, night demons, oppressive demons, oppressors, demons of forgetfulness, demons of gods, demons of nagas, demons of yakshas, demons of gandharvas, demons of non-humans, demons of wrong views, and the demons of Matrikas. It destroys those who eat incompatible kinds of food.

With this powerful Dharani that others cannot match, whether it is fighting, arguing, battling, or going anywhere, you will gain victory. Write the scripture on the top of the banner. Any mantra-holding son or daughter of a lineage should be single-minded. Whether it is a monk, a nun, a novice monk, a novice nun, a male lay practitioner, or a female lay practitioner, in order to protect the Dharma from harm, keep it in mind.
