The Dhāraṇī Called 'Mother of Stars'. The Dhāraṇī Called 'Mother of Stars'. ༄༅། །Herein dwells the Dhāraṇī Called 'Mother of Stars'. In Sanskrit: Nakṣatramātṛkanāmadhāraṇi. In Tibetan: The Dhāraṇī Called 'Mother of Stars'. Requested by the Sage Pleased with the Stars. I prostrate to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. I prostrate to the Buddha. I prostrate to the Dharma. I prostrate to the Sangha. Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan was dwelling in the great city of the pastoral lands, together with a retinue of gods, nāgas, yakṣas, gandharvas, asuras, garuḍas, kinnaras, mahoragas, the eight planets, the twenty-eight constellations, and so forth. Then the sage Pleased with the Stars rose from his seat, folded his palms, and prostrated, saying thus: "For the sake of preventing the malevolent, violent stars from shortening the lives and stealing the radiance of sentient beings, from stealing lives and causing inauspiciousness, and from harming and injuring sentient beings, Bhagavan, please explain which category of Dharma will benefit sentient beings." The Bhagavan replied, "Pleased with the Stars, it is excellent that you have asked for the sake of benefiting sentient beings. Listen well and keep it in mind. I will explain the secret that is even more secret than the offerings and excellent recitations of the violent, malevolent, and cruel stars. I will explain the sequence of offerings that, by offering to them, pacifies the harm of the cruel gods and demons and the wrath of the violent stars. I prostrate to the twenty-eight abodes of the constellations. I prostrate to the planets. I prostrate to the sages. I prostrate to the gods. I prostrate to the nāgas. Having prostrated to them, the constellations are as follows: Kṛttikā and Rohiṇī, Mṛgaśīrṣa and Ārdrā, Punarvasu and Puṣya and Āśleṣā, Magha and Pūrvā Phalgunī and Uttarā Phalgunī, Hasta and Citrā and Svātī, Viśākhā and Anurādhā and Jyeṣṭhā, Mūla and Pūrvāṣāḍhā and Uttarāṣāḍhā, Śravaṇa and Dhaniṣṭhā, Śatabhiṣaj and Pūrvabhādrapadā, Uttarabhādrapadā and Revatī.

O! Chrungme and Namdru O! They also prostrated to the Buddha Shakyamuni and spoke and resided as follows. For example: Tsa Ye Sing, Bhaye, Nardhaye, Ma Tsaye, Hang Tsaye, Ku Ra Chhaye, Zaye Ye, Be Ra Tsaye. We are those who wander and dwell in the east. Ma Tshu Naya, Entraye, Bhoye, Tsara Agye, Trahrungye, Atabhaye, Atri Bhaye. We are those who wander and dwell in the south. Mantra Riye, Mantra Raye, Nubhasaye, Bayuye, Bashamye, Hade Dhaye, Ghonashiye. We are those who wander and dwell in the west. Pusdharmaye, Mondre Neraye, Chrung Warataye, Chrung Ralpuraye, Namdru Huraye, Thakar Gura Namdru Hu, Pratibheraye. We are those who wander and dwell in the north. Then, by the power of the Buddha, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani and others, and the sage who delights in the stars, commanded the twenty-eight constellations: Just by reciting this dharani, one will be completely protected from all the demonic obstacles and harms of the stars, and great happiness will increase. Then, they said in unison: Om Rama Le Rama Le, Adhe Dhara Dhy, Akana, Bimale, Sarva Vajra Rati Durna, Masha Mashe Ye, Mama Sa Pari Sara Sara Sara, Bhadama Svaha. Whoever recites this dharani once, the harm of the evil stars will be pacified. There is no doubt about this. Whatever evil star is encountered, birth and death, and curses, gambling, etc., funerals, weddings, building cities, and entrusting suppression, etc., whatever fierce deeds are done, at those times, whoever recites this dharani, all of those will become auspicious. Bad dreams and inauspiciousness will be liberated from all harm. Great leader, please listen, in the distinctions of the three times of offerings, offer one hundred and ten tormas to the four directions, worship the constellations according to the ritual, please grant protection in due time. 达秀达，纳嘎达，萨瓦 扎样 额ra 吽 啪 梭哈。念诵此陀罗尼咒语一遍，能遣除天神的魔障、非天神的魔障、夜叉的魔障、生灵的魔障以及一切魔障。能遣除恶劣的星宿、恶梦以及一切不吉祥之事。能救度老虎、熊、蛇以及凶猛的生物。能保护免受一切疾病和瘟疫的侵害。在路上行走时，也能平安地去，平安地返回。非时而死、心神散乱、记忆力衰退，也能在忆念中获得安乐。须知此陀罗尼具有无量的功德。无论是书写、持诵、读诵、受持、见到、供养、恭敬此陀罗尼的人，他们的障碍和违缘都将平息，从一切不顺遂的恶事中解脱，往生到极乐世界。生生世世都能忆起前世。星宿们也会如所吩咐的那样行事。达雅塔，嗡 贝哈Ra尼，嘿Ra 嘿Ra，萨嘿萨Ra萨嘿Ra，滚扎利，达达利，扎达日 梭哈。念诵一遍，就不会受到星宿的损害。一百年内不会有死亡的恐惧。等于对一切星宿都做了供养。如是宣说之后，菩萨们和星宿之神们都说“好啊！好啊！”，并对世尊所说的话表示赞叹。由喜爱星宿的仙人所请问的经中，名为《星宿之母》，能遣除一切恶劣星宿的经，圆满结束。 《星宿之母》陀罗尼。

By reciting this dharani mantra once, it will avert the obstacles of gods, the obstacles of non-gods, the obstacles of yakshas, the obstacles of bhutas, and all obstacles. It will avert bad constellations, bad dreams, and all inauspicious things. It will liberate tigers, bears, snakes, and fierce creatures. It will protect from all diseases and plagues. When entering a road, one will go in peace and return in peace. Untimely death, mental distraction, and loss of memory will also become peaceful with mindfulness. Know that this dharani has immeasurable merits. Whoever writes, holds, reads, recites, sees, offers to, or reveres this dharani, their obstacles and adverse conditions will be pacified, and they will be liberated from all unfavorable evils and be born in the Land of Bliss. In all lifetimes, they will remember their past lives. The constellations will also act as instructed. Tadyatha, Om Bhi Harani, Hera Hera, Sahe Sahara Sahera, Kundali, Tatali, Chartari Svaha. By reciting this once, one will not be harmed by the constellations. There will be no fear of death for a hundred years. It will be as if offerings have been made to all the constellations.
