Homage to the one who has the form of a sea of gods, holding in her hand an object marked with the sign of a deer, reciting twice (Tibetan: ཏཱ་ར་, Sanskrit Devanagari: तारा, Sanskrit Romanization: tārā, Chinese literal meaning: Tara) and the letter (Tibetan: ཕཊ, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Chinese literal meaning: Phat), able to eliminate all poisons without exception. Homage to the king of the assemblies of gods, served by gods and non-humans, with the splendor of joy in all armor, able to eliminate strife and bad dreams. Homage to the one whose two eyes are as bright as the sun and moon, whose two eyes emit extremely bright light, reciting twice (Tibetan: ཧཱ་ར་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हारा, Sanskrit Romanization: hārā, Chinese literal meaning: Hara) and (Tibetan: ཏུཏྟ་ར་, Sanskrit Devanagari: तुत्तारा, Sanskrit Romanization: tuttārā, Chinese literal meaning: Tuttara), able to eliminate extremely virulent epidemics. Homage to the one who establishes the three realities, perfectly endowed with the power of peace, able to destroy the hosts of demons, zombies, and yakshas, (Tibetan: ཏུ་རེ, Sanskrit Devanagari: तुरे, Sanskrit Romanization: ture, Chinese literal meaning: Ture) you are the supreme victor. With this praise of the root mantra, and the twenty-one homages to Tara, with perfect reverence for the goddess, whoever with intelligence recites it well, having risen at dusk and dawn, with mindfulness, bestows all fearlessness, completely pacifies all sins, and obtains the destruction of all evil destinies. The seven million Buddhas will quickly bestow empowerment, and one will obtain merit greater than this, and will ultimately go to the perfect state of Buddhahood. Its fierce and great poison, whether it is firmly established or spreading, whether it has been eaten or drunk, merely by remembering, one will obtain the result of completely eliminating it. The suffering tormented by demons, epidemics, and poisons can be completely abandoned, and so it is for other sentient beings as well. If one recites it two, three, or seven times, one who desires a son will obtain a son, one who desires wealth will obtain wealth, and all desires will be fulfilled.
