Concerning the explanation of sinking, excitement, and dullness, etc. Concerning the explanation of sinking, excitement, and dullness, etc. Sinking is when the clarity and sharpness of awareness become lax. Excitement is the aspect of distraction that belongs to the side of desire. Dullness is a state where darkness descends upon the mind. What is called "luminosity" is not merely an empty negation; it is the essence free from elaboration, possessing the aspect of awareness radiance. One should understand how the base appearances arise from the base, and how delusion and liberation arise from that, and how delusion, once reverted to the base, can never possibly be deluded again. The doctrine of the intermediate turning of the wheel of Dharma is that all phenomena are vast emptiness, free from the elaborations of the expanse. And the doctrine of the final turning of the wheel, the teaching of the kayas and wisdoms, these two are considered by omniscient Longchenpa and Jamgön Mipham Namgyal, etc., to be great indivisible union. In the unique tantras of secret mantra, it is said to be the primordial original ground or the awareness of the Dharmakaya abiding as the ground. In the context of luminous Great Perfection, there is no binding or liberation of the base. The view of the exhaustion of phenomena in the original purity of the state of being is realized. Since the spontaneously present self-radiance is unceasing, one recognizes that the appearances of samsara and nirvana do not cease. The play of compassion dawns upon objects, and without any opportunity to accumulate karmic imprints, thoughts and concepts are liberated without a trace, and thus one has conviction. These three have been indivisibly present from the beginning, and therefore it is called the awareness of the indivisibility of the three kayas or the union of awareness and emptiness, which is the view of the Nyingma vidyadhara lineage. These are the words of Yukhok Chatral. Concerning the explanation of sinking, excitement, and dullness, etc.
