Collection of Teachings by Tsamponpa Sonam Sangpo JTSZ42, including praises to the land of Khachö Chözong and words of self-encouragement. Praise to the Land of Khachö Chözong, including words of self-encouragement. Praise to the Land of Khachö Chözong, including words of self-encouragement. Homage to all the venerable Lamas! The master of siddhas, the great Brahmin Sarah (Sanskrit: Sarah)! The lord of realization, Śavaripa (Sanskrit: Śavaripa)! The sole protector of beings in degenerate times, with the name of youth (referring to Tsongkhapa)! I respectfully bow to these three supreme Lamas! The blessed mountain, the lineage of Menri! Upon a heap of countless jewels, Is the supreme abode of vidyadharas, Lhari Kha! The flowers of Mandarava (Sanskrit: Mandarava) cover the earth, The sorrowless tree adorns the four gates. The garden of perfect gathering adorns the four corners. The great temple is as stable as Mount Meru, With eight-cornered eaves, the four directions adorned with four jewels. In the supreme sacred place of the Khachöpas, The mandala of deities of the three levels of beings is beautifully arranged. The five great scholars with the name of Deva, And the Lamas who have come in the lineage of the Buddha reside here. With single-pointed, uncontaminated meditative bliss, The renunciates who dwell here for as long as they live. Five hundred monks also dwell relying on the hollows of the sorrowless tree. This place is renowned for its perfect auspiciousness, Generous, with body, speech, and mind bound by discipline. The supreme spiritual friends who bestow the nectar essence of secret instructions, Fill the entire world. The place where the dakinis reside, The Khachö Chözong, as precious as a head ornament, Is the supreme place for those who seek liberation to practice the profound path. In the sky above, the wings of the white-headed vulture flutter, In the mountains in all directions, divine birds sing. In the meditation huts, male and female wild animals roam, The yogi's loyal dog is that lovely blue she-wolf. The call of the four snow mountains is like the call of the mother and the dakinis. The sun, moon, and stars revolve like ornaments on the head. The flowing water, the breeze, and the sounds of birds also appear as spiritual friends. This is the place where innate wisdom naturally arises, The sacred place far from the thorns of samadhi. Like an immeasurable palace relying on the sky. In this solitary place with all the conducive conditions, Impermanence and death shake me from the depths of my heart, To make this rare and easily lost leisure and opportunity meaningful, Please practice the Lama's instructions day and night without懈怠. To the mindless one, I have a suggestion: Although you have entered the Dharma for many years, Your hearing, thinking, and meditating have made no progress, And your practice has become a matter of this life. When the visions of the lower realms appear, tears... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alas! Although it has been a long time since I had the thought of practicing, I have been busy with distractions of 'doing this, doing that,' And have not put the Guru's teachings into practice. When Yama (Lord of Death) comes to lead me away, tears flow from my eyes. Although I have relied on many Gurus, I have not generated sincere devotion and intense longing from my heart, So that my prayers have become mere words. When the elements dissolve, tears flow from my eyes. Although it has been a long time since I was born, I have been obscured by the delusion of clinging to permanence, So I have not truly found the thought of death from the depths of my heart. When the visions of the afterlife appear, tears flow from my eyes. Although I have contemplated the view for a long time, I have been bound by this attachment to my own view, So I have not found the view free from extremes. When the clear light dissolves into emptiness, tears flow from my eyes. Although I have been with relatives and friends for a long time, I have not realized that all objects of attachment will pass away, So I have to go alone. When the terrifying visions of the Bardo appear, tears flow from my eyes. Although I have relied on solitary retreats for a long time, I have remained deceived by following after gain and respect, And have not grasped this true home of my innate nature. When the Eight Worldly Dharmas rise as enemies, tears flow from my eyes. Hold these words in your mind and strive to practice! Abandon attachment to body and mind, and generate diligence! Despise worldly pleasures, and practice asceticism! Do not be lazy, death will come quickly! This poem was composed by Jetsun Sonam Zangpo (rje btsun bsod nams bzang po) at Khachö Chözong (mkha' spyod chos rdzong). Table of Contents A poem praising the place of Khachö Chözong (mkha' spyod chos rdzong), along with words of self-encouragement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
