The Root of the Two Aspects of Yoga. The Root of the Two Aspects of Yoga. The Root of the Two Aspects of Yoga exists. Om Swasti. Om, may there be well-being!). Here, considering the order of the paths in brief, it is the order of the seven limbs. Moreover, the complete Buddhas residing in the ten directions, together with their sons, benefiting beings, possessing a mind like the sky, I prostrate with devotion to all. From today onwards, always, may I and all sentient beings take refuge in the supreme guide and nirvana, and the assembly of noble ones. 1. With flowers, incense, lamps, fragrances, and various foods, music, and garments, with immeasurable merits done and to be done, I make offerings to the guide and his sons. 2. Sunk in the great ocean of endless samsara, the ignorant me and my endless mothers, having committed the ten non-virtues and the five heinous crimes, all transgressions I confess individually. 3. Ordinary beings who have not entered the path, and stream-enterers, once-returners, non-returners, arhats, self-awakened ones, and victorious ones together with their sons, I rejoice in the merits done and to be done. 4. Those who desire peace, the hundred thousand kotis, for as long as existence lasts, may they remain. Decayed by the poison of afflictions, by the suffering of evil, Extremely attached to the rooms of evil. In order to see these peaceful pleasure gardens, please bestow the nectar of the sacred Dharma, Bhagavan. 5. May the guides of the ten directions heed me. From today onwards, I will protect my mothers, these impermanent and endless beings, and I will not harm them in any way. I will not remain in this ocean of samsara, nor will I go to the quiet solitude. For the sake of the enlightenment of all beings without exception, I shall attain unsurpassed enlightenment. 6. Having acted thus, may I, through all merits, clearly see unsurpassed enlightenment. 7. The nature of no thing, all is like illusion, whatever yogi desires to know, he should meditate thus. Even when dwelling in a town or a hermitage, since the mind of enlightenment does not diminish, the unsurpassed practice of enlightenment is always practiced with the mind. Thus, a household is a place of many faults, a place of constant sinful actions, full of coquetry, strife, and clamor, always of

Harms are numerous. Alas, when will I be liberated from this? The wise seek a solitary place. Abandon the home of many faults, like not eating the food of ghosts. They go to a forest without harm. Whether they hear much or little, those bodhisattvas who always prioritize meditation, those who are content with mere hearing, decline like beggars. Thereafter, those with wisdom rely on virtuous friends, seek the sacred Dharma, and having taken the treasure of supreme instructions, go to a forest grove, a place never trodden by vulgar people. That noble person, having gone there, abides with an upright body. Holding the mind with the mind, here the heroes gather. Many discursive thoughts greatly diminish, becoming as calm as ocean waves. If the mind becomes distracted, then discipline it with mindfulness. Remembering the enjoyment of desirable objects, at that time desiring wealth and the body, conditioned things are like a mere illusionist, like seasonal clouds flashing with lightning. Samsara is like a snake swallowing a corpse. Alas, I am in a place of distraction. Furthermore, hatred, desire, and delusion, these great and terrifying thieves, are destroyed by the armies of love, dependent arising, and contemplation of ugliness. The mind is like a door shut tight, discursive thoughts are not moved by the wind, one does not change for the sake of desires, and one obtains the bliss of thorough taming. Thereafter, from great hearing, the Prajnaparamita is taught. As wisdom arises from that, the wise meditate with the possession of instructions. Like the sprouts of the salu tree and the rainbow, dependent arising is wondrous and amazing. "All phenomena are empty of truth," again and again, contemplate that nature. With mindfulness and awareness, rely on vigilance in all activities. In all actions, how does one not let the mind waver and analyze phenomena? Then again, whether the wise stay at home or live at the edge, whether they remain in equipoise or indulge in desires, whether they are long-time practitioners or beginners, first they should meditate on compassion for all sentient beings. Those who intend to kill any being should be regarded as virtuous friends, fathers, or mothers. If one understands this

If transformed, one should transform forms and meditate. Or, for a while, cultivate loving-kindness, and afterwards, definitely strive for compassion. Otherwise, the mind of enlightenment will not grow. Thus, desiring to place all beings in enlightenment, one should become accustomed to compassion and diligently endure harm and suffering. Gradually, one should also correctly train in the six perfections. Furthermore, those Bodhisattvas who train in compassion should make offerings to the noble Avalokiteśvara, praise him, draw near to him, and meditate. The condensed path is complete. By the virtue of my writing this, may all sentient beings quickly attain the unsurpassed enlightenment, constant happiness. Written by Bhikshu Kunga Nyingpo. Good! Therefore, by the light of virtuous deeds, may the lotus garden of the virtues of the teachings and beings fully bloom in all places and times, and may the splendor of benefit and happiness blaze!
