The Essence of the Latter Four Golden Teachings. The Essence of the Latter Four Golden Teachings. The Essence of the Latter Four Golden Teachings, etc. Namo Mahamudra (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思). The essence of the Great Seal Ga'u-ma is: At the beginning of the session, refuge and bodhicitta. The self-arisen deity, guru yoga, etc., are similar to the six dharmas. At the end, the dedication is the same as the general dedication. For the first practice, the three natural preliminaries are: Eliminate impure air three times with the essential points of the body. Then relax the body comfortably, let the speech and wind rest naturally. Leave the mind uncorrected, stunned. Let thoughts arise abruptly. Or decisively cut off sudden thoughts. Look directly at the nature of distraction. If vast conceptual thoughts arise, make a firm decision and a strong intention, and strive to keep the mind constantly stable. During breaks, always meditate on the inseparability of mind and appearances, naturally resting in a stunned state, integrating inseparable actions and all dharma practices, with mindfulness and intention being very important. Then, coarse, fine, near, far, long, short, up, down, and middle three. Recite sutras and mantras, various talks and behaviors, especially when thoughts are confused. For difficulties, diligently practice without any bias. Focus mainly on, resting greatly without any support. When drawing inward, the mind should lazily look at itself. It is important not to deliberately engage in affirmation and negation, and not to fall into a state of not recognizing the nature. Then, search for the mind: How does it arise, cease, and abide? Is its essence one or four, one body or one name? Where does the overall object reside? Is it one? Is it many? Does it reside in form? Does it reside in awareness, or in a state of nothingness? Turn extremely inward and communicate with yourself. The essence is the self-liberation of four faults. Originally, the Great Seal is said to be good, comfortable, empty, and clear, but it is abandoned due to attachment. It is bound by resting meaninglessly. Therefore, for ordinary awareness, without distraction, without forgetting, greatly and without determining the object, be clearly aware. For whatever appears, whether it abides or moves, decisively cut it off, making it self-empty and rootless. Loose, loose, loose, whatever appears is clear. Do not transform this with good or bad, and for what can be transformed, do not go beyond it, this is how self-liberation is. All appearances of samsara and nirvana are just tricks of this. Whether this is one's own nature or not, it is originally beyond existence and non-existence, this is close at hand but not recognized. Profound but not understood, simple but not believed, good but not comprehended.

Therefore, one wanders in samsara. Always, without separating from the memory of recognition, whatever afflictions arise, one should not be able to deal with them in a self-empty way, but rather adopt a laissez-faire attitude. Sometimes, placing the object of affliction in the mind, deliberately inserting it, and dwelling without concealing that face, one should cultivate in this way whatever arises in the mind, whether it is virtuous, non-virtuous, or neutral. Afterwards, the three kayas naturally manifest. Regarding this, when meditation progresses, whatever appears, whatever thoughts arise in the mind, the thoughts themselves have no root of arising from the beginning. When one recognizes one's own mind, the power of dharmata immediately manifests, and realization arises. Coemergence and subsequent attainment merge inseparably, without interruption, the power that does not fall into any side, unobstructed, vast, boundless, the essence of practice appears impartially, behavior is natural, and one no longer seeks places for meditation. Therefore, from the beginning, appearance and emptiness are inseparable, the three kayas are naturally liberated, and that time is naturally manifested. It is crucial to cultivate with non-distraction and decisiveness. In the uninterrupted state of self-luminousness without an object of focus, use various skillful means, and increase devotion and compassion. Increase all virtuous actions with fabrication in a state of non-fabrication and rootlessness, thereby realizing Vajradhara, this is certain. This teaching on the essence of Mahamudra was also written by the bhikshu hermit Kunchok Nyinpo (Kun dga' snying po) (1575-1634) at the sacred place of accomplishment, Samding (located in present-day Langkazi County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet), at the request of some faithful disciples. May goodness increase! Blank page. The essence of the latter four golden dharmas.
