The practice of Avalokiteśvara, the eldest of all the Buddha-sons. The practice of Avalokiteśvara, the eldest of all the Buddha-sons. Unbiased compassion pervades like the sky. The eldest of all the Buddha-sons is, I prostrate to Avalokiteśvara. I shall write a brief practice method. To that supreme noble one, the lord of great compassion, who merely by hearing and holding his name, one will attain the irreversible ground, with devotion that makes the hairs stand on end and tears flow, perform prostrations, offerings, praises, and circumambulations. Meditate on the mind of enlightenment. Contemplate the meaning of the mantra of emptiness. From the radiating and gathering of light from the letter (ཧྲཱིཿ，Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः，Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ，Literal Chinese meaning: Hrih) at the heart, visualize the body of the protector of the world, white like an autumn moon, with the Bhagavan Amitabha residing on the surface of the matted hair. The two hands are in the teaching mudra at the heart, or the right hand in the supreme generosity mudra and the left hand resting on the seat, holding a stem of a white lotus. The skin of a deer rests on the left shoulder. Adorned with silk and precious jewels. Seated in a playful posture with the right leg extended. Beside him, the wrathful king Hayagriva, red in color, blazing with splendor like the fire at the end of an eon. On the top of his head is a green horse head neighing. The right hand makes a gesture of reverence and the left hand holds a white club. Invite the wisdom being, offer with offerings, and let it dissolve into oneself. Bless the three places with (ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ，Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ आः हूँ，Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ，Literal Chinese meaning: Om Ah Hum).
