The Sadhana of Eight-Armed Tara The Sadhana of Eight-Armed Tara Om Swasti! To the activity goddess Tara, and the precious Three Jewels of refuge, and to the all-encompassing Lama, I prostrate. Now, I will explain the Sadhana of Eight-Armed Tara. First, generate refuge and the four immeasurables. Purify into emptiness with स्वाभाव (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思: स्वाभाव,svabhāva,self-nature). From पंप (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:पंप,paṃ,lotus) arises a lotus, and above the moon from अ (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:अ,a,none) arises an उत्पल (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:उत्पल,utpala, blue lotus) marked by ताṃ (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:ताṃ,tāṃ,seed syllable), completely transformed. Oneself becomes Tara, with a body and four faces of green color, possessing three eyes each. The first two hands hold the उत्पल (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思:उत्पल,utpala, blue lotus) mudra at the heart. The remaining three right hands hold a rosary, an arrow, and a wheel. The three left hands hold a victory banner, a bow, and a vase. She sits in a posture of extending the right leg, adorned with silks and jewels. Then, bless the three places. Inviting the wisdom being, empowerment, and sealing are similar to the common practice. Offer with argham and so on. Praise by gods and non-gods. Visualize the goddess who protects from the eight fears, protecting sentient beings. Recite the ten-syllable mantra as much as possible. Also, recite the root mantra twenty-one times each. Afterward, dedicate the merit in a state of non-objectification. During breaks, recite the hundred names and the twenty-one homages as much as possible. The torma offering is similar to that of Fierce Tara. The method of guiding disciples is also similar to the Tara of the Four Deities of the Kadampa. It is widely known in the tradition of Nagarjuna. May the Sadhana of Tara generate joy and bliss. There is no fault in clearly stating just the essence of the Tibetan and Chinese texts. This concludes the chapter on the Sadhana of Eight-Armed Tara. May prosperity increase!
