The Sadhana of Avalokiteśvara, the King of the Sky. The Sadhana of Avalokiteśvara, the King of the Sky. Oṃ Svasti! To the thousand Chakravartin kings, the basis of the thousand Buddhas' emanations, renowned as the King of the Sky, to Avalokiteśvara, I prostrate. Perform the seven-branch practice from the "Excellent Conduct" three times. Refuge and bodhicitta are in accordance with the common practice. Contemplate emptiness and recite "Svabhava," cultivate loving-kindness and compassion. On a lotus and moon seat, from the syllable Hrīḥ (藏文:ཧྲཱིཿ,梵文天城体:ह्रीः,梵文罗马拟音:hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:Syllable Hrih), one transforms into the noble Avalokiteśvara, the King of the Sky, whose body color is white with a reddish glow. The three root faces are white and peaceful, above them, three faces are yellow and smiling, above them, two are dark blue and wrathful, above them, two are reddish-brown and baring their fangs. All faces possess three eyes, and above all is the face of Amitābha. Of the ten root hands of the Dharmakāya, the first two are joined in prayer, the remaining right hands hold a string of pearls, a wheel, the supreme granting mudra, and a Buddha image. The left hands hold a lotus vase, a wish-fulfilling jewel, and a combined arrow and bow. Of the thirty-eight branch hands, the right ones hold a precious hook, a begging bowl, a sword, a vajra, a swastika, crystal, fire crystal, a yellow bow, a tender shoot, a yak tail fan, a shield, a vase, a battle axe, a rosary, a blue lotus, a fragrant flower, and a white sun. The left ones hold a white cloud, braided hair, a yellow lotus, a sword, a conch shell, a skull cup, a staff, a rosary, a bell, a vajra, an iron hook, a parasol, an emanation body, a mansion, a scripture, a wheel, a snake form, winter wheat, a red lotus, and a jewel. The thousand and two hands at the fingertips make the supreme granting mudra. All palms have eyes. The two feet stand together. A deer skin is draped over the shoulder. Adorned with silk, jewels, and snakes. Complete with all marks and signs. At the three places (mark) "Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Om)", "Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आ,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:Ah)", and "Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum)". May the Tathāgatas bestow empowerment with vase water, and contemplate benefiting beings in all Sambhogakāya and Nirmāṇakāya realms. Clearly establish the visualization for recitation, and recite the Nīlakaṇṭha dhāraṇī as much as possible. If it is difficult to hold, it is permissible to recite it roughly in Tibetan. If it is not known and not understood, it is sufficient to recite only the six-syllable mantra, as it is the main mantra of this practice. Recite the Mani as much as possible. Finally, perform

Settle the mind in a state of stillness. At all times and places, do not be separated from the yoga of body, speech, and mind. If you wish to make offerings, first perform bathing and cleansing. In front of the painted or sculpted image, arrange extensive offerings and tormas. Bless them three times with the mantra and mudra of the Treasury of Space and the dharani of the Cloud of Offerings. Invite all sentient beings, etc. Make offerings such as "May the Blessed One come with compassion." Perform bathing and seating. Make offerings with most of the offerings, etc. Praise with "Untainted by faults," etc., and "Happiness in the three times," etc. Also, recite the Hundred Names, etc., as much as you can. Bless the torma with the mantra and mudra of the Treasury of Space. Oṃ Maṇi Padme Hūṃ. (藏文:ༀ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城体:ओँ मणि पद्मे हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ maṇi padme hūṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡 玛尼 贝美 吽) Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ. (藏文:ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུཾ།,梵文天城体:ओँ आः हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡 阿 吽) Dedicate a small portion of the essence to the main offering, and give the remainder to all beings with the mantra of Akarö. Pray for the fulfillment of wishes. Consecrate the image with Ye Dharma. Dismiss the guests with "Ya Hi." The way to receive disciples for this practice is as follows: First, perform the self-generation and front-generation as described earlier. Have the disciples bathe. Perform the seven-branch practice as in the "Bhadra-caryā Praṇidhāna," and bestow refuge and bodhicitta as appropriate. Meditation and generosity alone are sufficient. Although the sadhana of this practice is also found in the "Royal Teachings Collection," it seems that the current holders of this tradition and the practice of this practice are slightly different. This miraculous and pure Dharma cycle is known as the beginning of all Tibetan Dharma. By rejoicing and appreciating this, if one practices it, one will accomplish the supreme meaning of the essence. This concludes the chapter on the sadhana of Avalokiteśvara, King of the Sky. May it flourish and increase! The Sadhana of Avalokiteśvara, King of the Sky.
