A Collection of Prayers A Collection of Prayers Om Svasti. (藏文：ཨོཾ་སྭཱ་སྟི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ स्वस्ति, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ svasti, meaning: Om Svasti) May auspiciousness prevail! The basis for the emergence of various glories of existence and peace, widely propagating the teachings of the Victorious Ones, skillful in methods of taming disciples with devotion, may the life of the supreme incarnation be stable! You have excellently grasped the chain of rebirths, to tame disciples appropriately in this direction, with wondrous activities skillful in methods, may the life of the wise teacher incarnation be stable! For such pure activities, may there never be any obstacles, and may all matters as you wish be accomplished, may life, activities, and benefit for beings be completely fulfilled! This is the prayer for the long life of the venerable and holy one, composed by Vajra Karmapa Jedrung Wangchuk Dorje in Shara. Auspiciousness! Homage! The body of the glorious, all-pervading, immutable Vajra, the indestructible sound, the inexpressible Vajra speech, the bliss-great union, the equality Vajra mind, I pray at the feet of Lhawang Drakpa. This was also spoken by Tāranātha. May virtue and goodness increase! Om Svasti. (藏文：ཨོཾ་སྭཱ་སྟི།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ॐ स्वस्ति, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: oṃ svasti, meaning: Om Svasti) May auspiciousness prevail! The protector of all mandalas, the chief of the accomplished ones, the Vajra feet of the yogi possessing the play of the four joys, the essence of the network of dakinis, Chakrasamvara, I pray to the nature of the inseparable four bodies. Causing all beings to be established on the ground of great joy, the lord of emptiness and compassion, the Dharma King, the chain of incarnations who control the lordship of all lineages, I pray to the eleven who have come in succession. Possessing the wisdom that sees all dharmas as they are, the essence of co-emergent joy manifest, the incarnation without rival on earth, I pray to the feet of the venerable lama. If I pray with joy and respect, until I have not attained the supreme essence of enlightenment, may you, with great compassion, never abandon me, and may you grant supreme and common accomplishments. This was urged by the scholar Ānandajita Bhadra, and Tāranātha briefly composed it, at the Dharma school of glorious Taklung Thang. May all the world be auspicious! The embodiment of the wisdom and compassion of all the Victorious Ones and their sons, the master of the twelve grounds, such as the most joyful, the wondrous, auspicious, immeasurable, joyful body, may your lotus feet remain firm in this field for hundreds of kalpas. May it be auspicious! May there be auspiciousness! Homage! I pray to the feet of the venerable Lama, whose body is the unchanging great bliss, profound and clear, whose speech is the unobstructed Dharma of sixty qualities, whose mind is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu, pervading like the sky. From the mandala of the wisdom and compassion of all the Buddhas, skillfully radiating hundreds of lights of joy to all beings, to the venerable Lama who reveals the meaning of the essence, I prostrate with reverence and pray from the depths of my heart. I pray to the Lama who is like a wish-fulfilling jewel, the basis of all auspiciousness, happiness, and perfection, the lord who holds the banner of the indestructible sacred Dharma, who contemplates the equality of self and others with the mind of enlightenment. I pray to the feet of the glorious Vajra Master, the lord of the mandala, who sees all appearances as the all-pervading great bliss, the spontaneously accomplished, virtuous activity, the protector of beings, the glorious Lama. With wisdom, he clearly sees all objects of knowledge, with love, he widely spreads the feast of benefit and happiness, with power, he illuminates the essential teachings, I pray to the feet of the protector who liberates. Merely remembering his name dispels all obstacles, by praying, all needs and desires are fulfilled, by relying on him with reverence, all siddhis are bestowed, I pray to the feet of the wish-fulfilling jewel. The naturally luminous, uncreated, primordial, having the wheel of purity without. Having attained the prediction of the feet of the supreme Lama, I pray to the feet of the venerable Lama. By the power of praising and praying to you, may the protector always hold me dear, and as long as the ocean of samsara is not empty, may I work for your teachings. This was well-composed by Tāranātha in order to prevent the various praises he had made from being scattered, and for the general recitation of the students. May virtue and goodness increase!
