Instructions on the Ten Teachings of Gampopa Instructions on the Ten Teachings of Gampopa This mind, unfixed, awareness empty, diverse, this experience is the key to the unborn. Although it is difficult to agree with other people's minds, it still shows the profound meaning of the Dharma as much as possible. What is called "provisional meaning" and "definitive meaning" are not different on the basis of reality. This self-mind, which manifests with unfixed skill, is named in conventional language. If you examine this, there is nothing that cannot be said. The wise call it "definitive meaning." In general, something that is nothing appears as anything. Please meditate on this union of illusory yoga. The evil words of the beings of the degenerate age are beneficial for purifying the sins of the past. We are those who purify sins, and we should not be unhappy to help others. The appearance of karma, good and evil, is also an appearance of self-mind delusion. Please meditate on karma as the nature of the mind, without any acceptance or rejection. All ripening abides in the dharmadhatu. Self-mind is the state of the unborn dharmakaya. The lama is the essence of the dharmakaya. If you know that self-mind and the lama are inseparable, then you will never be separated from the refuge. This way of cultivating spontaneous awareness does not distinguish between life and death. When meditation becomes fluent, even the so-called bardo is empty of sound. In a solitary retreat without distraction, in that realm of effortless accomplishment, please meditate without laziness. Now I can't grasp the key points of the path. Whatever arises in the mind is not spontaneous. Although I have not found an antidote, I should not be doubtful or attached. If you do not believe in the arising of effective practice, you are harming yourself. If you are attached, you will fall into a cliff. If a house built with years of white is destroyed in one day, it is a waste of effort. If the meditation spent a whole life is taken away by arrogance, it is a great loss. Whatever appearances and thoughts arise, if you need to maintain a relaxed state without distraction, it is only a partial method, not the ultimate. So please look at your own arising again. Thinking that the mind itself is the antidote, it is a delusion if it stays as an antidote. Thoughts, appearances, and non-thoughts are three different names but have no difference in meaning. If abandonment and antidote and speech are exhausted, then the king of instructions has arrived. Hardship and perseverance

Foolish me, Having not diligently strived for a long time, How can I, such a person, instruct you? Not having liberated one's own mind through practice, Yet desiring to liberate others, how strange! Not having grasped the firm ground of one's own immutability, Yet saying to guide others, how laughable! Without prior experience and karmic connections, How can one show the path to others? However, relying on the kindness of the venerable Lama, And the power of one's own faith, Having settled all the turmoil of my own mind, Daring to speak a little, I write this. Mangalam! (Auspicious!) Good! This is the instruction to the ten Khenpos.
