Cha Kagyupa La'o! Cha Kagyupa La'o! Like the pure white autumn clouds, From the utterly pure intention, May the nectar of sweet words rain down, Long may it be the nourishment of mental ease. The auspicious square white silk, symbolizing pure, cool rays, Which makes all directions white, Is a sign of the flourishing of altruistic activities. You are a great-minded holder of the treasury of knowledge, How can someone like me presume to speak? The profound and vast scriptures are immeasurable, All that is established through hearing and contemplation, Is received with pure intention, And widely proclaimed to the wise. Even sitting in the seat of a Dharma speaker, Yet only seeking the benefit of enjoyment, Postponing the affairs of the Dharma, Is a thief of the teachings of the scriptures. Even if appearing to teach and listen, If not grasped by the mind of enlightenment, One spends a lifetime in the causes of attachment and aversion, Neither oneself nor others are liberated from samsara, They are thieves who destroy altruistic activities! The teachings of the Sutras and Tantras, and the words of wise and accomplished ones, Possessing the splendor of the blessings of the past, One should diligently study the excellent commentaries, There is no need for the words of later generations. The wise ones of the past were accomplished ones, The wise ones of later generations have become fake wise ones. Rather than giving wealth and possessions for eons, It is said that giving Dharma for one day is superior. For Dharma teachings given with the desire for fame and self-aggrandizement, There is also the fault of selling the Dharma. Taming one's own mind is extremely important, May it be so in the hearts of spiritual friends. Mangalam! Cha Kagyupa La'o!
