Instructions to Zla-ba ri-pa Grags-pa bzang-po Instructions to Zla-ba ri-pa Grags-pa bzang-po Namo Gurave Homage to the Guru). I, a wandering yogi, though unable to fully express all experiences, what harm is there in saying a few words? If it doesn't suit your mind, then leave it aside! This meal named "Guru Puja" is the sole cause of destroying one's own position. Wouldn't it be better to stay in solitude? This practice without defined boundaries is nothing more than a facade of goodness. Wouldn't it be better to discern it? Even if one obtains Dharma from an unreliable source, blessings and accomplishments will not arise. Wouldn't it be better to meet at the source? Small in wisdom but great in doubt, this is a sign that faith will not arise. Wouldn't it be better to abandon doubt? This unmanageable affair is a demon that wastes life. Wouldn't it be better to utterly abandon it? The monastery that runs after town rituals is a householder named a practitioner. Wouldn't it be better to wander in empty valleys? In a solitary retreat, the wealth of busyness makes staying in the monastery meaningless. Wouldn't it be better to practice with one-pointedness? In short, wanting to put into action everything that comes to mind shames gods, demons, and humans. Wouldn't it be better to unite with the deity with one-pointedness? Merely clinging to words is a good clinging that deviates from the general meaning. Wouldn't it be better to abandon words? Regarding freedom from elaboration, unspeakable, unthinkable, etc., no matter how much one says "Good, good" and "Profound, profound," in reality, one never touches the essence, never reaches the end of investigation, and ultimately only becomes bigger than the mind. Wouldn't it be better to relax before investigating? This unclear generation stage is of no benefit and is quite annoying. Wouldn't it be better to make it clear? Always wanting to sleep, wanting to lie down, this bad habit of always wanting to sit in the sun, although one says one is practicing, in reality, one never practices. Wouldn't it be better to cultivate endurance? The important things that need to be thought about, and the necessary practices, are thrown to the wind. Wouldn't it be better to cut off conceptual thoughts? Always thinking of doing it after the state of inability disappears, one is indulging in the demon of laziness. Wouldn't it be better to act immediately? Expecting results without causes, always expecting some sign to appear immediately, for the reputation of the learned, disciplined, and accomplished ones

Okay, I hope so! Approach the Dharma in a way that cannot be concealed. Isn't it good to abandon great lies? Generate certainty in the Guru's instructions. Contemplate the biographies of past accomplished ones. Erase any self-grasping that arises. Since it is inherently limitless, sit comfortably. If you think it is true, keep it in your heart. If it is not suitable, let it go out of your ears. Even if you listen, I will not develop attachment to you. Even if you don't listen, I will not develop hatred towards you. This is Tāranātha's advice to Dakpa Sangpo of Zlawa Ripa (Moon Mountain Hermitage). May it be virtuous! May it be auspicious! Advice to Dakpa Sangpo of Zlawa Ripa.
