Collected Teachings of Dolonatha JT473: Instructions of the Great Accomplisher Lavapa, a Method for Introducing the Fortunate to Instantaneous Awakening, called the Sahajayoga of Whispered Transmission. Instructions of the Great Accomplisher Lavapa, a Method for Introducing the Fortunate to Instantaneous Awakening, called the Sahajayoga of Whispered Transmission. Instructions of the Great Accomplisher Lavapa, a Method for Introducing the Fortunate to Instantaneous Awakening, called the Sahaja yoga. Om Svasti! Here are the instructions of Master Lavapa, a method for introducing the fortunate to instantaneous awakening, called the Sahajayoga of Whispered Transmission. Among these, taking the uncorrected mind as the path, taking the uncorrected thoughts as the path, invoking the deity with great compassion, and invoking the lama, there are four. The first is, if you wish, take refuge, generate bodhicitta, and the guru yoga are all in accordance with the common practice. If you don't wish, you don't have to do it. The essential points of the body, in accordance with the seven dharmas of Vairochana, then entrust your own mind completely to yourself, and do not make any effort of thought. This is the essence of practice. In that state, by looking at the nature of whatever thoughts arise, the thoughts themselves are purified in the dharmadhatu, and remain in the state of mere clear awareness. If you don't recognize the nature and become slightly lax, you must forcefully suppress it with awareness, make a firm determination not to do so, and be strict in every way. This is very important. The second is, if the mind abides in an unshakeable state in that way, then whatever thoughts arise, the door of arising is open and unobstructed, do not stop it. Do not deliberately stop or modify it. As long as it is grasped by mindfulness, even if it moves, let it move, 23-85 even if it abides, let it abide. If the previous mindfulness weakens, that means you have not gained stability on the previous object of focus. Therefore, at that time, the fault of thoughts becoming loose will occur, so temporarily strive to focus on the previous object. If mindfulness does not weaken, then strive to recognize whatever arises, sometimes tightening, sometimes loosening, alternating, and spend all day and night in this way. The third is, clearly visualize your chosen deity, with the central channel from the crown of the head to the navel, with a red A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:A,汉语字面意思:阿) at the navel. Wind

Clearly visualize three times. Guide the breath inward with the sound of Om (Tibetan: ༀ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओम्, Sanskrit Romanization: om, Literal Chinese meaning: Om). Combine the upper and lower breaths. Focus on the form of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) and the sound of A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A). Hold to the point of no discomfort. Then, as you exhale slowly, think of exhaling with the sound of Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum). This is the three-syllable Vajra recitation, like a vase. The two-syllable Vajra recitation is: everything else is the same as before, with a red bindu at the navel. As you slowly and continuously inhale, think of entering with the sound of Ho (Tibetan: ཧོ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हो, Sanskrit Romanization: ho, Literal Chinese meaning: Ho). When the inhalation is complete, think of slowly exhaling with the sound of Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum). There is no need to cling too much to this. The fourth is to clearly visualize a Vajradhara, with a consort, identical to yourself, on the crown of your head. With devotion and longing, pray: You know my happiness and suffering. Whether it is happiness or suffering, there is no other refuge than you. After praying many times, he comes from the crown of your head to your heart. Meditate that it is inseparable from your own mind, and pray as before. Finally, think of nothing at all. Stare blankly into the space in front of you, and maintain the state of non-elaboration as before. In this way, the first visualization is the core of practice, and the other three are enhancements. By practicing in this way, the Mahamudra coemergent wisdom will arise from within your own mind. The first Vajra word teaches not to fabricate the mind and to use thoughts as the path. The two ways of meditating on bliss are taught. The third teaches to invoke the deity and the guru. Based on that, the fourth teaches how wisdom arises. This was spoken by Taranatha at the request of the Vajra disciple Lhundrup Zangpo. May there be auspiciousness! (Source: Old manuscript from Drigung, Lower Volume, 614)
