Instructions from Master Tāranātha JT55: Instructions to Kunga Gyaltsen, the permanent solitary practitioner of Tsok Jye Dzing, by Gyalkhampa Tāranātha. 1-688 ༄༅། །Instructions to Kunga Gyaltsen, the permanent solitary practitioner of Tsok Jye Dzing, by Gyalkhampa Tāranātha. ༄༅། །Namo Guru. The very essence of all Victorious Buddhas, I respectfully bow to the glorious master. Please bless us, along with all my disciples, please grant your blessings now. To the kind parents of the six realms, reaching the limits of the ten directions and the sky, knowing their kindness and repaying it, diligently cultivate love and compassion. Possessing the power to practice the sacred Dharma, this precious human body, so difficult to obtain, is as unreliable as an autumn cloud. Consider that death is uncertain. 1-689 Consider that death is uncertain. When you see that even the enjoyments you have strived so hard for, and all the possessions you cannot bear to part with, must be abandoned against your will, those who cling to permanence will only grieve in vain. Apart from practicing the sacred Dharma, all other activities are meaningless. All reliance other than on a qualified guru is a deceptive stone. In this short life, if we spend our time only for the sake of this life, we will endlessly experience the suffering of the lower realms. Do we have time for non-Dharmic activities? The human dharma that is named as the sacred Dharma, the selfishness that is named as benefiting others, and the three non-dharmas that are made into the form of dharma, are all lies that deceive sentient beings. From the depths of your heart, turn to the Dharma. From the depths of your heart, cultivate love and compassion. Abide in equanimity in the expanse free from elaboration. Please keep these points in mind. This is the advice given by Gyalkhampa Tāranātha to Kunga Gyaltsen, the permanent solitary practitioner of Tsok Jye Dzing. May there be auspiciousness!
