Homage to the Guru. Instructions to Drakpa Zangpo of Dairi. I, this wandering yogi, find it a bit difficult to express all my experiences. What if I say a little? If it doesn't suit your mind, then leave it. This meal named 'Guru Puja' is the only cause of destroying one's own position. Wouldn't it be better to stay in solitude? This virtuous deed without a thorough decision, does not exceed the pretense of being good, wouldn't it be better to discern? Even if you receive a Dharma with an unclear lineage, blessings and accomplishments will not arise, wouldn't it be better to return to the root? Small wisdom but heavy doubts, this is a precursor to not generating faith, wouldn't it be better to cut off doubts? This unchangeable affair is a demon that wastes life, wouldn't it be better to abandon it altogether? The monastery that runs around town rituals is a householder named a practitioner, wouldn't it be better to go to an empty place? In a solitary retreat, busy wealth makes staying in the monastery meaningless, wouldn't it be better to practice single-pointedly? In short, for everything that comes to mind, gods, demons, and humans feel ashamed, wouldn't it be better to focus single-pointedly on the deity? Attachment to mere verbal expression is a good attachment that transcends practical meaning, wouldn't it be better to abandon verbal expression? Freedom from elaboration and unspeakable, unthinkable, etc., no matter how much you say 'good, good' and 'deep, deep,' in reality, you never reach the peak, nor do you ever reach the end of investigation, it is only bigger than the mind, wouldn't it be better to relax without investigation? The vague state of unclear generation stage, will not make any progress, it is really frustrating, wouldn't it be better to clarify? Wanting to sleep, wanting to lie down, wanting to stay in the sun, this bad laziness, although it is said to be practice, but in reality, it is never practiced, wouldn't it be better to cultivate endurance? The important things that must be thought about, throwing the necessary practice to the winds, wouldn't it be better to make a firm decision on non-discrimination? Thinking of doing it when you are unable to do it, but indulging in the demon of laziness, wouldn't it be better to act immediately? Expecting results without a cause.

Hoping for a sign to appear immediately. Desiring the fame of being a scholar, a virtuous one, and an accomplished being. Approaching the Dharma in a way that cannot be hidden. Wouldn't it be better to abandon great lies? Generate a definite understanding of the Lama's instructions. Reflect on the biographies of past accomplished beings. Erase any self-view that arises. In general, because it is limitless, sit upright. If you think it is true, keep it in your heart. If it is not suitable, let it go out of your ears. Even if you listen, I have no attachment to you. Even if you don't listen, I have no hatred for you. This is Tara Natha's close advice to Drakpa Zangpo of Zla-ri-ba. May it be virtuous! Table of Contents Advice to Zla-ri-ba Drakpa Zangpo.
