Taranatha's Teachings JT20, Crucial for All Meditators. 1-637 ༄༅། །Crucial for All Meditators. ༈ Oṃ Svāsti. Making profits from enjoyment is not permissible for us Dharma practitioners. When will the Lama become a Buddha? It is said that he will appear in an impure retinue. Now, apart from any virtuous deeds, please do not engage in the ups and downs of grain trading. When will one come into a pure retinue, being content with small immediate desires? In order to become a god and pure, please engage in a pure retinue and activities. If one creates obstacles to the sacred Dharma, parents, siblings, friends, offerings, etc., whoever it may be, will become a demon. Please abandon worldly relationships. Compassion and attachment are of the same essence; there are errors on the path of samsara and nirvana. Apart from what is in accordance with the Dharma, do not be pleased with showing favor to people. When you stay abiding in your own Dharma, everyone will respect you. Please abandon actions that contradict the Dharma. This birth after birth is truly suffering; until you directly realize the unborn, it is very important to meditate single-pointedly. Seek a way to cut off the root of the mind. When engaging in virtuous deeds, those who speak nonsense saying "Ha he he" are demons who cut off virtuous deeds. Please do not associate with such friends. When you are taking your own practice to heart, making tea and alcohol feasts is like the pleasure of scratching an itch. Isn't it a deception of the demon? For the death that you know will surely come, the supreme Dharma is indispensable. The activities of this life are meaningless; the merit of the next life is very important. If you do not realize your own mind as the Dharmakaya, then even the eight great siddhis are just a deception of elaborations. Activities of subjugation and wrathful actions, as well as seeing, hearing, bathing, etc., will become demons for practitioners. Apart from being certain to benefit beings, please do not be pleased with village rituals. Whatever arises, whether happiness, suffering, or mental appearances, please meditate without clinging to the experience. 1-638 In a gathering of intimate men, weaving idle talk of attachment and aversion, disturbing the heart of the kind Lama, and cutting off the virtuous deeds of oneself and others, please do not be pleased with arguing. For a Dharma practitioner who practices, there will be no enemies, friends, near or far; harmonious and agreeable.

Immediate conduct is pure, In the future, pure appearances are vast, the relationship between Dharma friends is harmonious, Do not be simple-minded and think too much.
