In the great city of Rajgir, the Sangha distinguished, the Tathagata's skillful teachings and compassionate actions. In the stupa in the great city of Vaishali, the Tathagata contemplated his lifespan. Kushinagar, the place of great strength, between the twin Sala trees, he entered Nirvana. 'These are the Eight Great Stupas. If there are Brahmins (Brahmin), virtuous men, or virtuous women who generate great faith, build stupas and temples, and make offerings with reverence, these people will obtain great benefits, great rewards, and great praise. English version: If one can offer sincere worship to these eight great sacred stupas, that person, upon death, will quickly be reborn in the heavens. At that time, the World Honored One further told the bhikshus (bhikkhus): 'Listen carefully, I will now speak of the kingdoms and cities the Buddha traveled to and the circumstances of his life in this world.' And he spoke in verse: 'For twenty-nine years he resided in the royal palace, for six years he practiced asceticism in the Himalayas, for five years he taught and transformed beings in Rājagṛha (King's Abode), for four years he resided in Vishālin (Vishālin Forest), for two years he dwelt in Jarri Rock (Jarri Rock), for twenty-three years he stayed in Śrāvastī (Śrāvastī), Vaiśālī (Wide and Majestic City) and Sārnāth (Deer Park), Makula (Makula) and Trāyastriṃśa (Heaven of the Thirty-three), Śiśunāga (Śiśunāga) and Kauśāmbī (Kauśāmbī), the summit of the Jewel Stupa Mountain and the Great Wilderness, Venu Village (Venu Village), Veranti (Veranti), the capital city of King Śuddhodana (Pure Rice King), Kapilavastu (Kapilavastu).
