English version The Great Seven Treasures Dharani Sutra Spoken by the Buddha (Name of translator lost, now attributed to the Liang Dynasty record) Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was at the Jetavana Anathapindika-arama (祇樹給孤窮精舍). The Buddha said to Ananda (阿難): 'You should receive and uphold this Great Seven Treasures Dharani mantra.' At that time, the World Honored One then spoke this mantra: 'Xie di ye dai tan, chi she lü ti, bo luo re, bo luo, shi cha qiu na, bi cha.' Ananda, if there are those who receive, uphold, recite, and practice this Dharani mantra, until the end of their lives, it can cause all enemies to rejoice. Fire cannot burn, swords cannot harm, water cannot drown. They will not be controlled by various evil ghosts and demons. Whether they are Devas (天), Nagas (龍), Asuras (阿修羅), Gandharvas (乾闥婆), or even humans or non-humans. Ananda, this Seven Treasures mantra, if one is in water or fire, if one is among enemies and thieves, if one has eaten poison or encountered poisonous spells, one should recite this mantra. If there is fear and terror, with hair standing on end, all will be liberated. By the majestic virtue of Vipasyin Buddha (毗婆尸佛), the divine power of Sikhin Buddha (尸棄佛), the wisdom of Visvabhu Buddha (毗舍婆佛), the power of Krakucchanda Buddha (拘樓孫佛), the precepts of Kanakamuni Buddha (迦那牟尼佛), the merits of Kasyapa Buddha (迦葉佛), and the diligence of Sakyamuni Buddha (釋迦牟尼佛), may all sentient beings eliminate fear and obtain peace and auspiciousness.'
