大正藏第 21 册 No. 1366 佛说秘密八名陀罗尼经 No. 1366 [No. 1365] 佛说秘密八名陀罗尼经 西天译经三藏朝散大夫试光禄卿明教大师臣法贤奉 诏译 如是我闻。一时佛在舍卫国祇树给孤独园。与大比丘众千二百五十人俱。复有诸菩萨摩诃萨众。金刚手而为上首。 尔时世尊告金刚手菩萨大秘密主言。如汝本部号金刚部。于持明藏中最上甚深秘密之法。众生浅识根器狭劣。于秘密义难信难解。汝已先说难信解法。汝不依法非曰圣人。得名不善亦曰难调。金刚手我今于汝金刚部中。略说汝之秘密八名及陀罗尼。是陀罗尼若持诵者。于诸所求易得成就。若人闻此陀罗尼经。发至诚心受持读诵者。是人所有无间罪业悉皆消灭。持是经时法威力故。所有八万四千俱胝那由他诸恶魔众。退散驰走十方世界。若人闻此陀罗尼欢喜愿乐者。是人不持戒者得戒完具。非梵行者得成梵行。非寂静者得成寂静。乃至得见诸佛菩萨欢喜安慰。施所求愿令得成就。 尔时金刚手菩萨蒙佛诲责。头面作礼白言世尊。我先所说诚如圣旨。唯愿世尊不舍大悲。普为现在及与未来一切众生。宣说于我八种秘密名字及陀罗尼。令诸众生获大利益。 佛告金刚 现代汉语译本 《佛说秘密八名陀罗尼经》 西天译经三藏朝散大夫试光禄卿明教大师臣法贤奉 诏译 如是我闻。一时，佛在舍卫国祇树给孤独园（Jetavana Anathapindika-arama）。与大比丘众千二百五十人在一起。还有诸菩萨摩诃萨众，以金刚手（Vajrapani）为首。 尔时，世尊告诉金刚手菩萨大秘密主说：‘正如你本部号称金刚部（Vajra family），在持明藏（Vidyadhara Pitaka）中最上甚深秘密之法。众生见识浅薄，根器狭隘，对于秘密的意义难以相信和理解。你已经先说了难以相信和理解的法。你不依法行事就不能称为圣人，会被认为是不善的，也是难以调伏的。金刚手，我现在于你的金刚部中，简略地说说你的秘密八名及陀罗尼。这陀罗尼如果有人持诵，对于各种所求容易得到成就。如果有人听闻此陀罗尼经，发出至诚之心受持读诵，这个人所有无间地狱的罪业都将消灭。持诵此经时，由于法的威力，所有八万四千俱胝那由他（koti-niyuta）诸恶魔众，都会退散逃往十方世界。如果有人听闻此陀罗尼，欢喜愿乐，这个人即使不持戒也能得到戒律的完具，不是梵行者也能成就梵行，不是寂静者也能成就寂静，乃至得见诸佛菩萨，得到欢喜安慰，施予所求愿望，令其得到成就。’ 尔时，金刚手菩萨蒙佛诲责，头面作礼，禀白世尊说：‘我先前所说确实如圣旨。唯愿世尊不舍大悲，普为现在及未来一切众生，宣说我的八种秘密名字及陀罗尼，令诸众生获得大利益。’ 佛告诉金刚手菩萨说：

English version The Sutra of the Eight Secret Names Dharani Spoken by the Buddha Translated by Dharma Master Fa Xian, Minister of the Mingjiao Monastery, Great Officer of the Court of Imperial Sacrifices, under the Edict, from the Tripitaka of Western India Thus have I heard. At one time, the Buddha was in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Park in Shravasti, with a gathering of twelve hundred and fifty great Bhikshus. There were also many Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas, with Vajrapani as their leader. At that time, the World-Honored One said to Vajrapani Bodhisattva, the Great Lord of Secrets: 'Just as your family is called the Vajra family, it contains the most supreme, profound, and secret Dharma within the Vidyadhara Pitaka. Sentient beings have shallow knowledge and narrow faculties, making it difficult for them to believe and understand the meaning of the secrets. You have already spoken of the Dharma that is difficult to believe and understand. If you do not act according to the Dharma, you cannot be called a sage; you will be considered unkind and difficult to tame. Vajrapani, I will now briefly speak of your eight secret names and Dharani within your Vajra family. If someone recites this Dharani, they will easily attain whatever they seek. If someone hears this Dharani Sutra and receives, upholds, reads, and recites it with utmost sincerity, all their sins of the Avici Hell will be extinguished. When upholding this Sutra, due to the power of the Dharma, all eighty-four thousand koti-niyutas of evil demons will retreat and flee to the ten directions. If someone hears this Dharani and rejoices and is willing to learn it, even if they do not uphold the precepts, they will attain complete precepts; if they are not practicing Brahmacharya, they will achieve Brahmacharya; if they are not tranquil, they will achieve tranquility; and they will even see all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, receiving joy and comfort, and granting their wishes, enabling them to achieve their goals.' At that time, Vajrapani Bodhisattva, having been instructed by the Buddha, bowed his head and paid homage, saying to the World-Honored One: 'What I have spoken before is indeed as the Holy One has said. May the World-Honored One not abandon great compassion and, for the sake of all sentient beings in the present and future, proclaim my eight secret names and Dharani, so that all sentient beings may obtain great benefits.' English version: Vajrapani said: 'Listen carefully, listen carefully. From the Vajra section within the Most Excellent Vidya-dhara Pitaka, I will tell you your eight secret names. The first name is Gajahasta (Elephant Hand), the second name is Subhavyūha (Beautiful Adornment), the third name is Guṇaratnasāgara (Ocean of Meritorious Jewels), the fourth name is Acala (Immovable), the fifth name is Satyamegha (Cloud of Truth), the sixth name is Priyarūpa (Pleasing Form), the seventh name is Jvālāprabha (Flame Light), and the eighth name is Surūpa (Beautiful Form). Vajrapani, these are your eight secret names.' Then he spoke the Dharani: 'Namo Buddhāya (一) Namo Dharmāya (二) Namo Saṃghāya (三) Namo Vajrapāṇaye (四) Tadyathā (五) Acchi (六) Kharacchi (七) Sumamukhe (八) Sarrarakarani sadhaya (九) Hiri (十) Miri (十一) Dhini (十二) Siddhyantu mantra padani svaha (十三)' The Buddha told Vajrapani Bodhisattva: 'If there is anyone who receives, upholds, reads, and recites these secret names and this Dharani, that person will not fall into hell for seven Koti (俱胝) Niyuta (那由他) hundreds of thousands of Kalpas (劫). At the time of their death, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will appear before them, comforting them and preaching the Dharma. After death, they will be reborn in the Tuṣita (兜率陀) Heaven.' After the Buddha finished speaking this Sutra, Vajrapani Bodhisattva and all the other Bodhisattvas, as well as all the gods, humans, Asuras (阿修罗), Gandharvas (乾闼婆), and non-humans in the world, were filled with great joy, believed, accepted, and practiced what the Buddha had said.
