At that time, the Buddha told Manjushri Bodhisattva: 'This Sutra that has been spoken has great divine power and great might. It can save all sentient beings from heavy sins and extinguish all karmic obstacles. If there are Bhikshus, Bhikshunis, officials, laypeople, good men, good women, whether noble or humble, whether young or old, their lives are all governed by the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper. If they hear this Sutra, receive, uphold, offer, recite, and encourage friends, relatives, and family members to receive and uphold it, they will obtain blessings in this life and be reborn in the heavens in the next life. If good men and good women, or deceased ancestors, have fallen into hell or are suffering various hardships, if they hear this Sutra and believe, respect, and offer to it, then the deceased ancestors will be liberated from hell and be reborn in the Land of Ultimate Bliss. If good men and good women are harassed by ghosts and demons, have nightmares, encounter strange events, or are frightened in their souls, if they hear this Sutra, receive, uphold, and offer to it, their souls will be peaceful and they will never be afraid. If good men and good women are serving as officials, in military service, or need to travel far, if they encounter this Sutra and believe, respect, and offer to it, they will have a successful career, be promoted smoothly, and have great good fortune. If good men and good women are afflicted with illness and wish to alleviate their suffering, they should burn incense and offer to this Sutra in a clean room, and their illness will be cured. If good men and good women wish to advance in their careers, have smooth travels, succeed in business and wealth, and have prosperous sales, if they encounter this Sutra and believe, respect, and offer to it, they will obtain wealth as desired and have safe and auspicious travels. If good men and good women have losses in silkworm farming or their livestock are uneasy, they should burn incense and offer to this Sutra in a clean room, and their fields and silkworms will be prosperous, their livestock will thrive, and they will never have losses or disasters.
