English version The Sutra of the Twelve Names of the Great Auspicious Goddess Spoken by the Buddha Translated by the Tripiṭaka Śrāmaṇa Da Guangzhi Bukong of the Tang Dynasty Thus have I heard. At one time, the Bhagavan (World Honored One) dwelt in the World of Ultimate Bliss, surrounded by a countless assembly of great Bodhisattvas, expounding the Dharma for them. At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva-mahāsattva (Great Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara), Mahāśrī devī Bodhisattva-mahāsattva (Great Auspicious Goddess Bodhisattva), and others, arose from their seats and went to where the World Honored One was, bowed their heads to His feet, and sat to one side. Then, the World Honored One, desiring to benefit sentient beings of meager fortune and poverty, said to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva: 'Good man, if there are bhikṣus, bhikṣuṇīs, upāsakas, upāsikās, and other sentient beings who know these twelve names of the Great Auspicious Goddess, and can receive, uphold, recite, practice, make offerings to, and proclaim them to others, they will be able to eliminate all karmic obstacles of poverty and obtain great wealth and abundant treasures.' At that time, the eight classes of gods and dragons in the assembly said in unison: 'As the World Honored One has said, it is true and not false. We wish to hear the twelve names. We beseech the World Honored One to compassionately expound them.' The Buddha said: 'You should listen well. Now I will speak the twelve names for you, namely: Auspicious Celebration, Auspicious Lotus Adornment, Possessing Wealth, White, Great Name, Lotus Eye, Great Radiance, Giver of Food, Giver of Drink, Jewel Light, Great Auspiciousness.' These are the twelve names, you should receive and uphold them. Now I will also speak the Great Auspicious Dhāraṇī, as follows: Tadyathā: śrīṇi śrīṇi sarva kārya sādhani siddhe siddhe śrī śrī śrī śrī ālakṣmīṃ nāśaya svāhā At that time, after the World Honored One spoke this dhāraṇī, He said to Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva: 'This Great Auspicious Dhāraṇī and the twelve names can eliminate poverty.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

English version: All misfortunes will be dispelled. All wishes will be fulfilled. If one can recite this sutra three times during the day and three times during the night, or constantly uphold it without interruption, with a mind to benefit all beings, and sincerely make offerings to Mahāśrī (Great Auspicious Goddess) Bodhisattva according to one's ability, one will quickly obtain abundance of all treasures, auspiciousness, and happiness. At that time, Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva Mahāsattva (The Bodhisattva Who Observes the Sounds of the World), as well as the great assembly, the eight classes of gods and dragons, hearing the Buddha proclaim the twelve names and the dharani, praised that it was unprecedented, and were all greatly delighted, believing and practicing accordingly.
