Having expounded this Dharma in such a great assembly, all who heard it rejoiced without exception. This is known as the vow-fulfilling dharani. Thereupon, the Bhagavan (the Blessed One) spoke the dharani, saying: Namo Bhagavate Bhaisajya-guru Vaidurya-prabharajaya Tathagataya Tadyatha Om Bhaisajye Bhaisajye Samudgate Svaha If one upholds this true mantra, one can eradicate all the heavy sins of past lives and deaths from one's body, no longer experience the three lower realms (hell, hungry ghosts, animals), avoid the nine untimely deaths, and transcend all suffering. The fundamental mudra and mantra. With the eight fingers from the index fingers of both hands, interlock them reversely within the palms.
