平息饥荒怖畏祈请文。 平息饥荒怖畏祈请文。 ༄༅། ། 顶礼！宗喀巴大师所著平息饥荒怖畏祈请文。 为了必定救度无边众， 发起了无上菩提殊胜心， 成办二资圆满如来大悲尊， 此处补足三句。 十方导师菩萨声缘众， 上师本尊空行护法等， 以及土地神财神伏藏主眷属， 悲悯无怙浊世诸有情， 饥渴交迫困苦所逼迫， 为了必定救护此等众有情， 珍宝食物财富谷物与卧具等， 如意所欲受用之雨降， 于此雪域赡部洲。 非时狂风以及冰雹雨水等， 息灭四大的灾害， 谷物精华药材庄稼等， 如愿以偿成熟且增长。 以慈悲力的猛烈策动， 以此所发广大祈愿力， 病疫刀兵饥荒之劫速平息， 愿得长寿无病安乐吉祥。 如来佛子及其眷属之悲悯， 以及业果不虚之谛实力， 愿如来教法兴盛且广大， 一切众生速得无上菩提果。 此乃于卫藏（西藏中部地区）发生霜雹等大饥荒之际，宗喀巴大师于拉萨大昭寺觉沃仁波切（释迦牟尼佛像）前，以盛满谷物的金钵供养，并作此发愿。具缘者见圣观世音菩萨从虚空中降下谷物雨于藏地，使一切众生从饥渴的痛苦中解脱。此乃金刚语加持之语。 平息饥荒怖畏祈请文。

A Prayer to Pacify the Fear of Famine. A Prayer to Pacify the Fear of Famine. ༄༅།། Homage! A Prayer to Pacify the Fear of Famine, composed by the great accomplished master Je Tsongkhapa. In order to surely liberate limitless beings, You generated the supreme mind of unsurpassed enlightenment, Accomplishing the two accumulations, compassionate Victorious One, Here, three lines are added. Guides of the ten directions, bodhisattvas, shravakas, and pratyekabuddhas, Gurus, yidams, dakinis, dharma protectors, and hosts, Along with yakshas, wealth deities, treasure lords, and their retinues, Thinking with compassion upon helpless beings of the degenerate age, Those tormented by hunger, thirst, and unbearable suffering, In order to surely protect these sentient beings, May rains of precious food, wealth, grain, bedding, and so forth, And as many desirable enjoyments as one could wish for, Fall upon this snowy continent of Jambudvipa. May untimely winds, hailstorms, rain, and so forth, The harm of the four elements, be swiftly pacified, And may the essence of grains, herbs, crops, and so forth, Ripen and flourish in accordance with the time of a perfect age. Having been strongly urged by the force of loving-kindness and compassion, Through the power of this vast prayer that I have made, May the eon of disease, weapons, and famine be swiftly pacified, And may we possess long life, freedom from illness, happiness, and well-being. Through the compassion of the Victorious Ones and their sons, And through the power of the truth of the infallibility of karma and its effects, May the teachings of the Victorious Ones flourish and spread, And may all beings swiftly attain unsurpassed enlightenment. This was composed when a great famine caused by frost, hail, and so forth occurred in U-Tsang (Central Tibet). Je Tsongkhapa offered a golden bowl filled with grain before the Jowo Rinpoche (Shakyamuni Buddha statue) in Lhasa and made this aspiration. Those with karmic fortune saw the noble Avalokiteshvara raining down grain from the sky upon Tibet, liberating all beings from the suffering of hunger and thirst. This is the blessed vajra speech.
