Homage to the Sangha. Homage to the Lion-Faced Dakini. Homage to all those surrounded by the assembly of dakinis of samsara and beyond. Through the power and ability of paying homage to you all, may this truthful speech of mine be accomplished. In the past, the great master of Oddiyana, Padmasambhava, kept in mind the profound view and meditation of the Lion-Faced Dakini, and recited the profound mantra accomplishment. Through that power and ability, just as he repelled the evil mantras of the five hundred heretical teachers, so too, I now keep in mind the profound view and meditation of the Lion-Faced Dakini, and recite the profound mantra accomplishment. Through that power and ability, in general, for the common enemy of the Buddha's teachings; specifically, for the enemy of the life of the glorious Lama; especially for us vidyadhara yogis, teachers, students, and retinues, the former enemy strikes with the hand, the latter enemy thinks in the mind, all internal and external adverse conditions and obstacles arising from past karma and immediate circumstances, unfavorable influences, harm from humans and non-humans, evil thoughts and harsh actions, the evil actions of others' curses, hexes, and maledictions, the three acts of subjugation, suppression, and piercing curses by others, gossip, quarrels, inauspicious years, inauspicious months, inauspicious days, inauspicious constellations, bad dreams, bad omens, all unfavorable influences to be abandoned, diseases, demonic influences, disasters, plagues, and all obstructions, may they all be repelled, vanish, and be destroyed by the power of the word of the Lion-Faced Dakini.
