The Prayer to the Three Kayas The Prayer to the Three Kayas ༄༅། །The Prayer to the Three Kayas. Here begins the Prayer to the Three Kayas. Emaho! In the pure realm of the dharmadhatu, free from elaboration, In the nature of reality, the three times without arising or ceasing, In the spontaneously perfect dharmakaya of great bliss, free from action, Like the sky, impartial in compassion, I pray to the lama, the dharmakaya. I pray to Orgyen Padmasambhava. In the pure realm of great bliss, spontaneously accomplished, The sambhogakaya of the Sugata, endowed with the five wisdoms, Of body, speech, mind, qualities, and activity, Manifesting various distinctions of compassion, I pray to the lama, the sambhogakaya. I pray to Orgyen Padmasambhava. In the pure realm of this world of suffering, Coming with great compassion for the sake of beings, Taming beings according to their needs, acting for their benefit with skillful means, Of the past, future, and present, the three times, I pray to the lama, the nirmanakaya. I pray to Orgyen Padmasambhava. By the intention of the dharmakaya, Samantabhadra, Bestowing blessings between Vajrasattva, Garab Dorje, and Shri Singha, Of the past, future, and present, the three times, I pray to the lamas of the Dzogchen lineage. Thus, all that appears to the eye, Outer and inner, all phenomena and substances, Although appearing, may they remain in a state of non-attachment. The pure, clear, and empty form of the deity, the object and subject purified, I pray to the lama of self-liberated desire. Thus, all sounds that are heard by the ear, Pleasant and unpleasant, all sounds that are apprehended, May they remain in a state of sound-emptiness, beyond thought. The sound-emptiness, without arising or ceasing, is the speech of the Buddhas, I pray to the sound-emptiness, the speech of the Buddhas. Thus, whatever thoughts arise in the mind, Whatever arises of the five poisons of affliction, Do not manipulate them with anticipation or judgment, By leaving them in their natural state, they are liberated into the dharmakaya. I pray to the lama of self-liberated awareness. Outwardly, the appearance of objects is pure, Inwardly, the nature of the mind is liberated, And in between, the luminosity recognizes its own face. By the compassion of the Sugatas of the three times, May the self-continuum of beings like myself be liberated, I pray for your blessing! Extracted from the Chapter of Seven.
