One should not stray from the samadhi of the clear light of the Great Perfection. In this way, one should practice continuously in a way that the practice is definitely mixed with the tantra. Regarding the mantra for recitation, it is said in the terma text: "Externally, it is the aspect of concealing the life force in peace, the six syllables (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་དྲུག་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Literal meaning: six syllables) are the sound of the vajra, internally, it is endowed with body, speech, and mind, the ten syllables (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་བཅུ, Sanskrit Devanagari:, Sanskrit Romanization:, Literal meaning: ten syllables) are the gathering of all Sugatas, secretly, it has the support of the edge of the life force, in the degenerate age, rely on the end of the life force." Therefore, the six syllables, ten syllables, and seven syllables are explained as the three ways of recitation: outer, inner, and secret. Although only the six syllables are taught in the two tantras, the Root Sutra of Tara and the Lotus Crown Tantra, in most of the earlier Nyingma traditions, the seven syllables are not taught much. In particular, although our own tradition distinguishes in this way, as it is said, "in the degenerate age, rely on the end of the life force," it seems that only the seven syllables are used in the practice. During self-generation, "marked with the syllable HRIH (Tibetan: ཡི་གེ་ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari:ḥrīḥ, Sanskrit Romanization: hrih, Literal meaning: HRIH), the six seed syllables reside on the petals." Understand this to be in accordance with what is said. Regarding the way of recitation, it is said in the Secret Mantra Path to Enlightenment: "The mantra is not loud, not soft, not fast, not slow, not mistaken, hoarse, or interrupted." And, "recite by focusing the mind on the rays of the mantra, or the emanation, or the rosary." Therefore, after completing the practice of the three: time, number, and signs, in this way, thirdly, in the subsequent ritual, if you wish to perform a large-scale practice according to the text, you can learn from the empowerment ritual, etc. Otherwise, since the meaning of the union of recitation and accomplishment can also be accomplished through this, supplement with one-tenth of the fire offering, etc., according to the instructions. Each morning, perform one ritual, and at the time of the final torma offering, take self-entry according to the words of Panchen Pema Wangyal's work, "The Unmistaken Path Guide Empowerment Ritual," and perform the mandala dissolution, dedication, and aspiration, and then dissolve the boundaries. Thus, the method of recitation of the Lotus Hand, concise in words, complete in meaning, just as the meaning of the tantra, adorned with the guru's instructions, and well-spoken, may this virtue enable all beings to attain the state of Arya! This method was written by the Shakya monk Pema Trinle Maniwa, at the great Dharma school of Gangkar Dorje Den (meaning "White Snow Vajra Seat"), at the request of his own student, the Vajra Holder, the abbot of Latö Dondrup Ling (now Lazi County, Tibet), Tenzin Chöpel, the Vajra Holder.
