A concise and clear compilation of the essential instructions on the three kayas of the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara King tradition. Dharmaśrī. A concise and clear compilation of the essential instructions on the three kayas of the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara King tradition. Dharmaśrī. A concise and clear compilation of the essential instructions on the three kayas of the Great Compassionate Avalokiteśvara King tradition is complete. Oṃ Svasti. From the unchanging great bliss realm, the emanation of compassion. Worldly powerful Songtsen, Padmasambhava. The three inseparable Dorje (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) Vajra, to the master. Having prostrated, I compose the essential instructions on the three kayas. Here, the instructions related to the generation, recitation, and luminosity of body, speech, and mind, which come from the collection of teachings of the divine king Songtsen Gampo of Tibet, have three meanings: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, the uncommon preliminaries arise in connection with the main practice. Here, the common ones are: If it is a new instruction, it is necessary to cultivate the thoughts of the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment, the impermanence of death, the manner in which karma ripens, and the faults of samsara, so that they arise again and again in the mindstream. Here, assuming that the mind has already matured somewhat, in order to clarify the four objects of focus, they are condensed into one. Now that I have obtained this precious human body, which is difficult to obtain and of great meaning, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, just as one must cross a river when there is a boat, I must practice a pure Dharma that takes the essence of leisure and endowment. However, since there is no certainty as to when one will die, one should not postpone it, but do it immediately. At the time of death, nothing, such as residence, body, power, etc., will follow, so there is not even a hair's worth of essence in anything that one relies on in this life, such as power, wealth, enjoyment, etc. The two, virtue and evil, will certainly follow after death. There is no way to abandon the sins that have already been committed. If one does not cultivate virtue oneself, there is nothing to take. Due to the power of karma, wherever one is born in the three realms of samsara, there is only suffering, like being trapped in a king's prison, and no happiness. Especially if one is born in the lower realms, what will one do? There is no certainty that one will not be born there. Even if one is born in the heavens, it is like the sun in the clouds, changing and going away, so there is no

Because there is no leisure, from now on, even if it costs my life, I will not do evil deeds. I must make a firm resolution to diligently do good. Therefore, know that all actions other than the sacred Dharma are futile wheels of suffering, and even the happiness and wealth of a Chakravartin king should be seen as being like an anthill. If one develops a revulsion towards samsaric activities like vomiting, then one has hit the key point of the preliminary practices. Having tamed the mind in this way, one should take refuge as the path. Because there is no other than the Guru and the Three Jewels who can save us from the suffering of the terrifying samsara, one should think of seeking refuge and reliance in them. In the sky in front of oneself, visualize that in a tent of five-colored rainbows, on a supremely magnificent throne, the root Guru is inseparable from the noble Avalokiteśvara, surrounded by the retinue of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In their presence, leading all sentient beings, who fill the earth like dust, without any distinction of friends, enemies, or strangers, abandon everything and completely rely on you, you know what to do. Take refuge by reciting, for example, "The Guru, the embodiment of the Sugatas." Furthermore, all sentient beings pervading the sky are one's parents in all lifetimes. All of them are tormented by suffering, they do not know the means of happiness, and although they desire happiness, they create suffering, like madmen. Think of liberating them from suffering and establishing them in the unsurpassed bliss of enlightenment, and for that purpose, practice the profound path. Generate the mind of enlightenment by reciting, for example, "For the sake of all sentient beings." Finally, visualize that light radiates from the heart of the refuge object, shining on all sentient beings, causing them all to joyfully go to the pure land. Visualize that the refuge objects all dissolve into light and merge into oneself, making one's body, speech, and mind inseparable from the Vajra body, speech, and mind, and then dedicate the merit. Second, the main practice is divided into three: the guidance on the generation stage of the body, the guidance on the recitation of speech, and the guidance on the clear light of mind. First, divided into three: the common and uncommon preliminaries related to the body guidance, the actual guidance on the illusory empty body, and finally the transference of the body in the manner of a mustard seed. First, divided into two: abandonment and acceptance, of which abandonment is: the body that obscures the Vajra body.
