The chapter on prophesying three translators to soothe the king's heart. The chapter on prophesying three translators to soothe the king's heart. Then, select intelligent children of the people, those who are eloquent and have pure reproductive organs, those who have great wisdom and are fluent in speech, and send them to India to study translation. When learning all current and Dharma languages, the Khenpo had them study translation, which was: (153a) Namo Buddhāya Homage to the Buddha). Homage to the Dharma). Homage to the Sangha). The Tibetan children were not fluent and did not understand anything, reciting: Mama Budaya, Mama Bangmaya, Mama Pabaya. These pronunciations were taught to be translated into Tibetan: Homage to the Buddha, refuge! Homage to the Dharma, refuge! Homage to the Sangha, refuge! The Tibetan children were not fluent and said: Pargay Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! Chu Ya Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! E Eun La Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! The great master Padmasambhava taught translation: Namo Guruve Homage to the Guru). Homage to the Deva). Homage to the Dakini). No matter how much they were taught, the Tibetan children did not understand, reciting: Mama Bu U Ya, Mama Dre Bha Ya, Mama Bha Chya. These Indian words were translated into Tibetan to teach: Homage to the Lama, refuge! Homage to the Yidam, refuge! Homage to the Dakini, refuge! The Tibetan children still did not understand, reciting: Manama Ya Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! Jiwa Maya Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! Shawo Tang Tata Mo Seb Hu Hey! The two masters laughed and clapped their hands. The king was depressed and cried incessantly, delaying the time for eating meat, skin, and bones. (153b) After the king prostrated to the Khenpo and the master, he said: In this Dharma-less, remote Tibetan land of darkness, in order to enable people to attain Buddhahood, the two masters were invited and temples were built. I beseech you to postpone your return and preach the Dharma. Please grant your permission to stay with compassion. Dharma rules were established, and suitable children were gathered. But they do not even understand the pronunciation and cannot become translators, so the Dharma cannot be propagated. What should be done? The master Padmasambhava, who knows the three times, said: I have a way, Your Majesty, please be at ease.
