In the first spring month, the tiger month, on an auspicious day when the star 'Gyal' rises with the dawn and the sun, the Tibetan King Trisong Detsen was born. The venerable scholars of China, through divination and calculation of auspiciousness, from the ornate Chinese astrological charts, revealed the birth chart of a radiant person. The nine transformations of the 'smewa' and the appearance of the eight trigrams indicate that the king's wishes will be fulfilled with a face as red as the dawn. Teeth as white as conch shells, hair dark blue, and a topknot swirling to the right. Exceedingly beautiful, like a son of the gods.
