The Collection of Teachings of Khedun Ngawang Lekpa NL6: The Nectar of the Heart, the Yoga of the Lama Vajradhara The Nectar of the Heart, the Yoga of the Lama Vajradhara Namo Guru Vajradharaya Intelligent ones, who hold faith and devotion as the lifeblood of the path, and who know Ngorchen Dorje Chang (the Great Vajradhara of Ngor) as the embodiment of all refuges, desiring to practice the profound yoga, should first recite the refuge and bodhicitta three times. In the state of primordial purity, free from elaboration, Whatever appears as the place is the vastness of pure realms. Completely perfect with the arrangement of the great bliss field. In the center of the swirling ocean of offering clouds, Upon a lion throne, lotus, and moon seat, Inseparably one with the kindest and most excellent guru, The actual Vajradhara, Kunga Zangpo (All Good). White and red in complexion, peaceful and smiling, Wearing the three Dharma robes and a pandita hat, Adorned beautifully, inspiring purity. With hands in the teaching mudra at the heart, Between the thumb and forefinger, holding a delightful white lotus, In the center of the filaments, a vajra and bell, Showing the meaning of the inseparability of method and wisdom. Seated in the vajra posture, The three places marked with the three syllables Inviting like a blizzard, All the root and lineage lamas of the ten directions, Yidams, hosts of deities, buddhas, and their sons, Together with the hosts of Dharma protectors and wealth deities, Dissolving into the body of the venerable guru, Becoming the embodiment of all refuges. Then, with one recitation of the incomplete Vinaya Pitaka, offer the seven-branch prayer, and offer the mandala in elaborate or concise form as appropriate. With intense devotion, recite the three sections (body, speech, and mind), recalling the meaning of the words, and with clear, distinct, and pleasant sound. From the ocean of all sutras and tantras, A rain of nectar-like oral instructions, like wish-fulfilling jewels, Granting benefit, happiness, glory, and goodness, I supplicate at the feet of the glorious lama. Recite the above prayer, counting hundreds or thousands of times, as much as possible. Finally, the lama in front dissolves into light and merges into oneself. The three vajras (body, speech, and mind) and the three doors (body, speech, and mind) are inseparably one. Perfectly obtaining all empowerments and siddhis, One's own mind becomes the actual face of the lama. Having said this, maintain the essence of the lama's four bodies (Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya, Nirmanakaya, and Svabhavikakaya). In all lifetimes, complete with aspirations and dedications, and spend time with Dharma-congruent conduct. This was written by Khedun Ngawang Lekpa at the end of the year, urged by the Gelong (monk) Kunga Phuntshok (All Good and Perfect) of Lower Shod Dzongsar Monastery.

I, the monastic monk Khenrab Tsultrim (mkhyen rab tshul khrims) of the monastery, have also been repeatedly urged to write a Guru Yoga that is easy to practice. In order to fulfill the wishes of both at once, Shakya Bhikshu Ngawang Legpa (ngag dbang legs pa), who merely follows the second Buddha, the venerable Ewam Pa Chenpo (rje btsun e waM pa chen po), wrote this at Drakang Retreat Center Samten Phuntshok Ling (dwa sgang sgrub sde bsam gtan phun tshogs gling). May it be auspicious! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
